the closest thing we have gotten to a second trailer are the multiple tv spots that have been released mostly in the UK, where the movie is going to be released in February. also, we have gotten a art book released in early December featuring (basically) the entire shortened storyboard of the movie, giving away most of the plot and showcasing all the characters who are going to be in the movie, including Lil Petey, 80-HD, Big Jim, Butler (a new character), Flippy, and many others. besides that i still feel this is going to be a good, maybe even great movie, despite the terrible marketing strategies, just like Captain Underpants.

DreamWorks’ in house studio is still handling half of the animation for “The Bad Guys 2” while Sony Pictures Imageworks handles the other half of the animation hasn’t started, so it’s mostly an in house outsource collaboration. And hey, it’s at least nice their in house studio didn’t shut down. Because, let’s be honest, if they were fully outsourcing their animation to other studios, not only would they shut down their in house department and lay off the rest of their animators, including Jeremy Schaefer, but they would also abandon their animation software, Premo, and their rendering software, Moonray, in favor for Houdini pipelines or whatever. And I say that because before the studio, Blue Sky Studios, shut down in 2021, and soon after “Spies In Disguise” came out, they were actually planning on abandoning their own rendering software, CGI Studio, in favor for a Houdini Pipeline. Look, just be thankful DreamWorks’ in house team is somewhat still alive. Oh, and another issue I noticed about outsourcing animation to other studios: While DreamWorks’ laid off animators could do remote work for the specific studios DreamWorks is outsourcing their animation to, it’s only a matter of time before they do the DNEG schtick where a studio like Jellyfish Pictures stops accepting remote work and looks for more UK based animators due to “taxes”. And I should know. My Instagram friend, Calle Halldin, is a very talented Swedish animator. He helped out with “Under the Boardwalk” and “The Garfield Movie”; both animated by DNEG. I actually asked if he was gonna help with “The Cat In The Hat (2026)”; also animated by DNEG. He sadly said no because he got laid off by DNEG, since DNEG decided to stop accepting remote work and start looking for more UK based animators, due to “taxes”. And that’s kinda the issue with outsourcing to other studios. But then again, DNEG might be the only acceptation because ever since they got acquired by Prime Focus, they basically started treating their staff poorly. Which makes me start to question a lot about their involvement with “Nimona (2023)”.🤨

Well there is one piece of marketing that I know of. I work at a pretzel place in a mall and every few months we get a new promotion like "try our newest drink" or "new flavor pretzel" stuff like that. And I just recently found out that our promotion for this month is promoting Dog Man. Even our cups changed design to Dog Man design and our cups never change design. We haven't use them yet but I'm excited. But it's still very weird that DreamWorks still didn't a second trailer for Dog Man. 🐾🚶🏻

@ I could be wrong of what I said about illumination because according to their schedule, their next movie after Despicable Me 4 is Mario Bros 2 which that’s coming out in 2026🎥🗓️. There’s zero mention of their 2025 movie until they said something. And I am aware that Dreamwork’s has a hard time to capture the success they once have. Especially the Shrek movies. I can’t believe this is actually the best DreamWorks can do after making a movie version of Captain Underpants, and obviously this might end up worse for the studio, especially when they’re doing a live action version of How to Train Your Dragon, which is also why you should never do live action movies based on the animated version, along with very famous cartoons. Well, Shrek 5 seems unnecessary too, along with the fourth one since the third movie is terrible due to cash grabbers, some might say the same failure for Shark Tales, Home, Bee Movie, The Boss Baby (due to how cringeworthy it is), and Spirit Untamed.
