It is a very unpopular belief now, but I am convinced this is more of a religious war than anything, and those of us that are not theists are stuck in the middle, like we always have been in human history. The one thing that is different now that Christian nationalism is brazen and everywhere, and infectious to American society is that all non-nationalists will have to band together to fight against this nonsense. That means theists will have to suck it up and not judge us (just like their religious texts say not to), and band together WITH US so that the atheists/anti-theists like me, but also Muslims, Catholics, non-nationalist Christians, and Jews (all Abrahamic religions), but all theists in general, and non-believers alike will have to fight against this fascistic theocracy, and THAT will be the true struggle. I am willing to fight WITH theists, but historically the one thing that all theistic religious sects will come together in agreement about is their hatred for atheists, so it will not be an easy task, but it is our last chance to fight against the dissolution of American democracy. We have to do something, otherwise why do anything in life at all. This all boils to a blatant disregard for existential ideals, and worldview, and how everyone should have the freedom and right to choose for themselves what they believe or don't believe, weather it is based on unfalsifiable claims, or not, it is our right as humans. I believe fully in religious freedom, and the one main issue with nationalism is their disbelief that the freedom FROM religion exists as an integral part of religious freedom. We have quite a lot on our plate, that much is not debatable.

Check in with the local party office and local government to see where you might be able to help. Keep track of all the local and mid term elections and vote in those. Don't look for perfect, there is no such critter. Just vote for the option that is closer to what you want. Better will come along later but until then, the better option keeps the terrible options out. And be very careful not to bring ideas of revenge or pity votes. It has to be about what's better regardless of party. It has to be based on what they are bringing to the table, not by party but by what the people need that they are backing. Well, the Supremely Bad Court granted him official immunity. He's already been protected by the SC as long as he declares his crime an "official act" of office. If he has a political opponent killed, then that's okay. It's unbelievable. They aren't planning on obeying laws. They've set him up to be a king, so it's not just in Trump's mind. Biden and Merrick Garland should do whatever it takes to block him from taking power, but they can't get with the fact that this is not the same as in the past. They still need to do something.
