I thought it was a good ending. I mean most of it was pretty much foreshadowed if you read between the lines. I don't mind that a lot of the stuff is left up to the imagination because most fiction literature is like that anyways. It tied up a lot of the themes which was important. I thin kthere is also a tendency to focus too much on characters in anime, which this manga doesn't do a lot of. The manga is obviously flawed, but not enough not to enjoy it. In terms of plot holes, I can go on about plot holes in every single media, these people just don't like the manga which is fair, but to say that you hate it because of the plot holes is kinda insane.

Honestly, I feel that the abrupt end to sukuna is very fitting. He died an abrupt and regrettable death, just like most of the jujutsu world. It showed that anybody; even the man at the top; can have everything taken away in a single moment.

Imo, the worst aspect of the ending is that Megumi basically did nothing... I always expected that he would fight Sukuna with Yuji, so that they get revenge for what he did to them (especially Megumi), and that the story would finally deliver on his promised potential and complete Domain Expansion. It would have been a perfect and natural conclusion to the story It seems Gege fumbled the bag, and Megumi just made a puddle... 😭

I had a similar premonition but it was way back when Gege was getting sick then the holidays breaks and it got worse when the 5 chapter mention because out of the big 3, my favorite was Bleach and I was getting flashbacks lol I love the trio surviving and being back together again because the chemistry is the best but yes Sukuna execution was just.... Jjk managing to make both Sukuna and Kenjaku the definitions of mid villans is insane, as well as the fall off after Shibuya. Mahito ended up being the best villan in the series. Unfortunate, the only thing jjk will have is animation.

There’s nothing more irritating about this series than losing the 3 main antagonists in a less satisfying way than losing the disaster curses. The death of Jogo connected us to his character and his desire to become the new humans, and mahito’s connection and parallel from yuji was done perfectly. Kenjaku, the one character in need of development had fun then died. Uraume who had no personality was offscreened then offed themself. And Sukuna went down after being the dumbest raid boss for 40+ chapters in a way that made no sense for his character. This truly was our jujutsu kaisen. A decent enough plot with great potential characters and world building built up in overall good arcs only for the CG and Shinjuku arcs to be mediocre at best.

Yeah people are saying Sukuna's end got rushed. Well Kenjaku died what, two years ago? Rushing couldn't have been the excuse then. I'm starting to wonder how much of the previous quality was a combination of happy accidents and the Anime making playoffs more impactful. I can't believe we waited years speculating about the black box only today learn Sukuna's techniques come down to exactly what we saw in Shibuya: cutting and fire. Wow. Big woop.

@@Yodah97 Honestly, I don’t think that Sukuna’s death was rushed, but it definitely felt that way because of how dumb he was made to be, and how BS filled the fight was. He didn’t do anything smart to avoid damage or gain advantages at any point in the fight except regaining his domain the first time. Only for that domain to be the result of “imprecise elements” and an “impromptu binding vow” and neither being explained. The he just survived Jacob’s ladder twice, which a month ago nearly killed him after half a second under its effects. Then he survived a purple entirely unguarded and in his weakest state, after already saying earlier in the fight that he wouldn’t be able to survive a close range HP even at Gojo’s low output. Instead of being a smart character like when he was fighting Gojo, Kashimo, and arguably higaruma, he’s just made to look like an idiot. Especially for someone who in the end was AFRAID OF DEATH. That’s y it may not have been rushed, but it most definitely felt rushed. Because outside of the most unsatisfying deaths and payoffs being in the Shinjuku arc, he was also made to be entirely hallow after Kashimo’s death. And yeah, it was just so mid learning how bare bones Sukuna’s technique was. Extremely disappointing. It makes sense I guess, Sukuna is meant to be a simple character, but even the idea of furnace being a part of shrine doesn’t make sense, so that argument for his technique doesn’t even work. Cutting has nothing to do with fire after all lmao.

@@bromous1446 Yeah basically the Japanase word for Sukuna's technique means "cooking area". It was a particular type of old kitchen. So he should have access to a variety of cooking tools, not just cutting and fire. But nah. Gege didn't feel like it, I guess. Crazy how in retrospect, the smartest and more interesting character was Sukuna using Ten Shadows. He actually had some good ideas then. Was there even a single binding vow in the Gojo vs Sukuna fight besides the final one to kill Gojo? I guess Gojo was just born 1000 years too late to abuse the binding vow meta. Also now that we've seen the full size of his bag, we can confidently say that Sukuna was all talk. Gojo would have DESTROYED him if he didn't have ten shadows. Uraume saying that Sukuna "isn't even serious yet" was just a joke too. I guess that chapter was just a little late for April's Fools. After that, all he did was use the fire arrow, and then it was back to business as usual. Sure the fire arrow is a mean finisher. But that's far from "only getting started", he was literally 80% done by then with only one new trick left to pull. And don't get me started on Jacob's ladder. What a joke of a technique.

@@Yodah97 I agree with a lot of what u said, but Sukuna rlly was the strongest, and he rlly could beat Gojo without the 10S. The evidence is there to say he would more than he wouldn’t. Gojo used binding vows more than Sukuna when they were fighting. He used a binding vow to increase his first purple to 200% (on top of the dance, chants, signs, and amps from utahime, Sukuna says as much). Everytime that Gojo changed domain conditions, they were binding vows such as flipping the internal and external barrier, expanding the size to capture Sukuna’s whole DE and shrinking it back down to strengthen the outside and so on. The only binding vow Sukuna used other than the last one in that fight was when he grabbed Gojo during the second domain clash to cancel the sure hit inside the domain to amp it outside. And I guess if we wanna be technical, the binding vow to allow an escape route in his DE, but that’s just open barriers in general.

The law is real but it went into effect last year. It's also a bit more complicated. Basically Gege had to put his name on a public list, but we don't know which name on that list is Gege's name. The law was something to do with fake names on invoices; it wasn't targeting manga artist specifically.

I feel the exact same way as you do. For someone with such a major impact of the story such as sukuna, his end was pathetic. For an example let's take muzans death. While muzan also died embarrassingly, at least his death took a while, versus sukuna who died in 2 pages. He's the main villain for gods sake how are you just casually gonna move on from him? I did want sukuna to lose but this is just a terrible way for him to go out. While i'm fine with nobara's return, it was to adrupt and it probably wasn't apart of gege's plan. I feel like their making him create a happy ending, which just goes against everything jjk has been building up to this point. The most annoying thing to me has to be yuji's domain. After gojo's domain was introduced everyone wanted yuji to have a domain. Now their boutta end it with no clarification on what the fuck his domain does??? I really don't want gege to take unc and nephew bonding time that seriously😭. In all seriousness though, if jjk's ending sucks I'm blaming the company telling gege what to write until further conformation if this is what gege wanted jjk to be.

I honestly think he is just done with the series. He already said that he hates Gojo, thinks Yuji is boring, he was forced to add Nobara in because of his editors, etc etc. That's why there are so many unanswered questions and plot points and crucial characters interactions that will never happen. Gege is done and just wants to end jjk, giving the readers a (mostly) happy ending, regardless if it makes sense or not. Sukuna's end could've been done better, Nobara's return was forceed and could've been done better, Megumi was useless and wasted, Yuji got like 5 power ups in 10 chapters with barely any explanation...

My friend was not happy with the Hakari fight being completely skipped, though there's a chance they'll give the anime the Thousand Year Blood War treatment where extra scenes are added (for example, the fight Byakuya had with three other Sternritters was skipped in the manga but animated in the anime). Im an outsider looking in, and I still find it funny that Sukuna became the victim of pacing. Its been awhile, but even the Major's death in Hellsing was a satisfying end to the character. His fate was sealed once we saw his troops get annihilated. He was a crazed warmonger who, in the final chapters, had his army go from the mighty Panzergrenadiers of the Third Reich to the Volksturm (the ill-equipped civilian militia at the end of WWII). And while he didn't appear or sound panicked, it was clear he was willing to throw whatever he had left at Alucard, Seras, and Integra to defeat them. In the end, he wanted and got his war, but the people who survived the aftermath didn't even call it a war. Even in the OVA, the newspaper refers to it as "The Zeppelin Incident" rather than a war
