@@Strife1425 after Zack had his fight with sephiroth at the reactor, both him and cloud were captured by hojo and experimented on. Cloud was only a shinra grunt and had no soldier training whatsoever, part of hojo's experiment involved clouds memories mixing with Zacks, along with all of Zacks soldier training. So at this point in the timeline of the cutscene cloud was literally just a normal shinra grunt, but because his memories mixed with Zacks, he thinks he was the one that was doing the fighting instead of Zack. Basically cloud is an unreliable narrator

@@nazzarwrath5691 In fact, the real Cloud is in these memories as the carsick Shinra grunt, as well as the one that didn't get washed away on the way to the reactor. You can further see this at the end of the Flashback when Cloud is trying to get to his mom, you can see the Shinra grunt crawling towards Cloud's house saying "Mo-" before passing out. He was about to say "Mom." This is one detail I absolutely love about Rebirth.

A lot of terminally online people here who need to either get off the internet or play Crisis Core, either one. Context: Angeal, Sephiroth and Genesis used to be good friends. Angeal referred to Zack's constant upbeat energy as a "Zack The Puppy". Sephiroth looked after Zack in the stead of the dead Angeal, so this is a mix of affection and superiority to Zack from Sephiroth. Cloud is currently living through Zack's memories as if they were his own as he is severely traumatised by Mako Poisoning. How many spoilers to 15+ year old games in the space of one comment?
