I just want to explain how the show works..this show PD invites the guest without informing the MC, Jaejoong..so Jaejoong wouldn't know who would be coming to his show so he could guess who they are and get to know them DURING the show.. For those that were sad he didnt know the group, dont be. He is from 2nd gen, he wouldn't know all 4th gen groups anyways. Aside from generational gaps he was also banned from music shows and variety shows for more than a decade for filing a SM slave contract lawsuit..so its natural for him to be out of loops about newer groups..what is important that he knows the members/ groups and adores them NOW Ps Just want to add..Jaejoong is a 2nd Gen Visual and Vocal Legend, he is a soloist now but was the Main Vocal Main Visual of a SM group TVXQ that paved the way for ALL Kpop groups in Japan. He is also the reason why ALL idols have a better contract terms & length now.

Thank you for explaining! He's very sweet to the younger idols he's meeting and he's talked with them about how much he missed being able to meet people at the shows. Now and then he's really surprised at how their lives are different... He really got a raw deal, and I think it makes him happy when younger idols tell him things that are better for them. The episode with Boy Next Door has some good examples of that.

I didn’t understand why you had to explain at first, but after reading the comment section, some people really misunderstood Jaejoong. I look forward to Thursday happily every day, but there are always some comments that make me sad😢 If he can know who will come in advance, then spend a few minutes online to check the news or collect guest information, and remember their information and names. This is a very simple thing. When they first met, they were nervous and shy. However, due to the setting of the show, the host cannot know who will come in advance. Does this overwhelm Kim Jaejoong and make him look like someone who didn't do his homework? Is this process of guessing guests really necessary? Because as long as it's someone he knows, he can guess it just by looking at the clues on the tablet. But for people who don't know him, even if they see clues, he has no clue. It's best to have guests show up directly, extend a warm welcome to those you know, and introduce yourself to guests you don't know. I understand that a show needs to have its own characteristics and effects to spark discussion, but the flow of the show also limits a lot of things and conversational content. Oh my gosh, the mood changes are like a roller coaster ride. I was very happy after watching the show, but very depressed when I read the comments. This makes me think that he should not host this show, but should act in TV series or movies, focus on his work as a singer, and spend time writing songs is more meaningful😞

Yes, just like the name, this show was created as a place for jaejoong to making friends, either with old friends he hasn't seen for a long time or with new people he doesn't know yet. And that just the interesting part of jaefriends. Jaejoong has no idea who will be the guest in each episode (he must guess it) and he will try to be friends with them naturally through this show.

I could be wrong, of course, but I think you can go on enjoying Jaefriends. Enhypen is truly unique though, they're mostly calm and shy around new people but once they've warm up they can be chaotic in their own ways too. It can be awkward at times but that's one of the things I love about them, they're just as real as they come, and as an introvert, I relate to them a lot. But I can see that they really liked Jaejoong and genuinely wants to get close to him, especially Heeseung. @@heeppy3169 I didn't watch iland and seeing how many people are emotional about it, I am trying not to watch it cuz not in mood to get hurt, I feel like heeseung can be himself if he not stressed about having to relate to the younger members especially when the makane line in enhypen were so young when they first debut, if heeseung was the leader he might have not being able to relate to them, so having jungwon as leader actually balance this group, enhypen one most diverse group I see in kpop, the members are very diverse from their concepts to styles and personalities, I am actually surprised they can find common ground, cuz people with different personalities combined with their young age can easily get irritated and be on each other bad ends, but what I see is they all focused on their goals and know what they want.

​​​​​​​​​​@@ka-ty6mh It's a long story, but I'll try my best to summarise. Jaejoong was the main vocalist and visual of the original 5-member boy group, TVXQ. They debuted in 2003 and quickly became the most successful boy group of their era, and kickstarted the 2nd generation of Kpop idols. But in 2010, Jaejoong and 2 other members left the group because they filed a lawsuit against their company, SM Entertainment, mostly over 1) exhausting work schedules, 2) unfair pay distribution and 3) unreasonably long contracts. That lawsuit is the reason why Korean idol contracts have a maximum length of 7 years today (theirs was originally 13 years, not including military service). Because of the lawsuit, SM used its immense media influence to blacklist Jaejoong and the 2 other members from Korean TV, radio and music/award shows for nearly 15 years. Even still, they managed to become extremely successful due to their loyal following and Jaejoong in particular is known as one of the richest idols in Korea. He's also spent a lot of time in Japan, mostly because he has a strong fanbase there and has a lot more freedom to promote, but also because his crazy sasaeng fans made his life hell in Korea for decades. Anyway, all of the above is the reason he's had limited contact with newer generations of idols - the very same idols who look up to him and his group, and who now have better working rights because of everything he and his members went through. The aim of this show is to allow him to reconnect with his peers, both past and present, and to try and undo nearly 15 years of public erasure by SM.

Wow.. Kim Jaejoong is really a great MC. The members are so shy and awkward but he can keep the conversation going despite the big difference in personality between the Enhypen members and Jaejoong. Ngl it was quite hard to watch the awkwardness that I thought if Jay/Jake came instead, maybe they could help the MC keep the conversation going. But in the end, Jaejoong really makes them comfortable, gives assurance to them and told them that he wants to be closer to them. He's such a great senior.

Heeseung was casted by Bighit and became the legendary trainee at Bighit who topped the monthly evaluation for more than two years (that is why the company trust him the most) and went to his current company Beliftlab, to participate in a survival show right away for a program called I-Land. As you know, Beliftlab is a subsidiary of Hybe (Bighit's new big label) The company's staffs and the trainees who practiced with him know better than anyone else that Heeseung is the all-rounder with the best skills and best responsibility and honesty, so they talked about some of his episodes here and there in addition to what members said on this show, so it became known, and now, of course his fans know it well.
