Uig to Tarbert on a CalMac Ferry

On my way to the Outer Hebrides on a CalMac Ferry. One hour 45 minutes. I made four crossings, two on this boat and two on the Leverburgh - Berneray crossing. I have to say that the Ferry staff are super helpful and efficient.

I did this crossing some 50 years ago, goodness it all looks exactly as I remember it, Uig hasn't changed much. So lovely to see it again, brings back many happy memories, thanks Ilona.

AMAZING to check in on your channel and hear your story of your trip to Scotlands Outer Hebrides!! Because..... I am in West Virginia, U.S.A. and dearest friends of mine in Memphis and Nashville Tennessee, go there OFTEN!! We are Orthodox and there is a wonderful monastery called Mull Monastery on the Isle of Mull (Bunessan, Scotland) and I LONG to go there someday with my friends. They also get a B&B and tell me the most amazing, wonderful stories of walking around in that part of the world. Unsurpassing beauty. They are walkers and just walk forever when they go to visit the monastery. I've been invited but too chicken to fly that far. Maybe one day, I'll be brave. I CAN'T WAIT to see your pictures!!! Thank you Mary, it's good to hear from you. I have been to Mull, and Iona, and have noticed a distinct leaning towards religion on all the islands. There are many places of worship to explore. Your story reminds me of the pilgrimages that people take every year to their sacred places.
