In my interest of how one would create such a device. I have drawn one. Wow this has to be so accurate. No two holes are the same distance apart. Hence, it is handed 0 - 45° the 45 - 90° on the reverse side. Brilliant design. You talk about angle accuracy, but by my calculations, the holes are to 0.001mm. Well done UJK

Hi Barry, Yes, when I was doing the engineering drawing I was working to 0.0001. Cheers. Peter

That's absolutely brilliant, talk about your 5 cut test to see if your MFT cuts square

Hi Dan, I had told people that I was going to do this and so whatever the result I had to publish the video. I really did not expect it to be as good as it turned out but now realise that the system accuracy, which starts with the tracksaw cutting station created by the Parf Guide System, is so good and therefore great cuts like this are not so difficult to do. Cheers. Peter

Stunning! Thanks! Noticed there was still a bit of bounce in the track as you pushed down on the saw but clearly didn't affect the cut

Yes, I saw that in the video but did not notice it whilst sawing unlike my first session doing the pentagon. Cheers. Peter

You'll have to grain match the 3rd one 🤣 Genuinly I've just finished my new mft top for my bench with your parf 2. It is the most accurate mft I've done. Worth the cash, worth the patience to create the surface. 👍🏻

Your process is exacting as such, it's also a test of the Festool track, Festool saw and the Festool blade.

I was surprised that the Parf protractor kit was only £60. Axminster have got very expensive over the years, is this why they now offer free postage to stimulate sales? I had visions of it being some exhorbitant price like the mk 2 MFT kit.

Hi Peter, I know it is totally obtuse,but could there be an additional special hole provided in the protractor to allow an accurate heptagon?
@NewBritWorkshop
@NewBritWorkshop 17 күн бұрын
Hi Simon, I doubt whether there are enough people who would need this to justify re-launching the product. Also, squeezing the special hole for 25.7143 degrees would be impossible as it would intersect with the adjacent whole and half degree holes. Sorry. Peter

Why are there holes in the pentagon and decagon?
@ronboe6325
@ronboe6325 2 ай бұрын
When he cut the pie shaped pieces, he did not let the cuts intersect at a point on the inside. Especially on the last piece you can see about a 2-3mm flat - no point. So that leaves a space in the middle. I imagine making the point would have created some chip out (some woods are more prone to this than others and this is only an educated guess) so he avoided that problem.
