That lorry one... I was ready to assume that they weren't far from their destination and were just hoping it would hold on long enough. But they didn't change their driving style, slow down, be more cautious around trees and they seemingly didn't notice when it fell off. I want to know how that's possible because I'm always checking my nearside mirrors on roads like that, especially when other large vehicles are approaching from the opposite direction. I know lorries can be noisy environments and you tune out some of it, but how do you not notice that? Maybe it was his last day at a company he didn't like working at?

I have dealt with a lot of truck drivers and in my experience most of them are never in a condition where they should be driving. From being sleep deprived to being intoxicated to seemingly having "stuff going on" (for lack of a more precise term that the YT algorithms don't like). And I haven't even seen the worst of it. For example the first place I worked before I got there they used to have a regular "driver" come to pick up loads who was not actually a driver but a team of three brothers who would take turns to drive, despite only one of them being licensed, and they lived in the cab of the truck including having cut a hole through the floor of the cab that they could defecate out of, and they said they would actually put the truck in cruise while getting out of the seat and doing their business while having one hand on the wheel. Sounds like a nightmare, but they did it for some reason. Paper tacho era so they probably wouldn't get away with it now. Or there was one guy who would not stop "master baiting" so to speak. He did it when he was driving (or at least said he did), he did it when he stopped, he did it when connecting the pipes to the truck to offload, he did it while walking around, he did it when he walked off to go to the nearby shop. He never did anything obviously dangerous but I can't imagine someone doing that would be particularly perceptive on the road. I think because they rarely interact with other people they start developing strange habits some of the time.
