@Galstaf That was never going to happen. CPS guidance says a second has to pass between red light and car crossing the white line before they'll take action, I crossed 0.5 before the lights changed. Also NIP has to be sent to registered owner within 14 days, the court case was 6 months later. Also the vehicle in front would be extenuating circumstances. They think its clever, makes them feel like they have somehow “won”. Best thing to do if anyone does that is laugh and wave out the window. They hate that. Dont beep the horn, all that will do is show them youre annoyed. Im so calm on the roads these days, its not worth getting angry. You cant do anything about others bad driving, let them get on with it so long as you’re not in danger of being in a collision. The fact is, a lot of cars have dash cams now, and more drivers are reporting bad driving and quite right too. Obviously some cammers are sad and will report someone just for doing 2mph under the limit or something but for dangerous offences, hopefully more get caught as the time goes on.

Our roads would be far safer if there was even a slim chance of a driver being held to account for aggressive driving like this. As is stands, we know this is an unusual case. They wont usually get out and confront them so the only thing they can do is hit the brakes or drive slowly for ages. Its very childish. If anyone does it to me I make sure they see me laughing and waving or pulling a silly face at them haha that REALLY pisses them off because they aren’t “winning” by that point and they get angry because the other driver isn’t. #7 / 2:10 How is that a "perfect example of how not to ride a bike"? The cyclist positions correctly for the turn and gives a clear arm signal. The clip begins too late to say whether there was a timely shoulder check or an appropriate road sharing with the crossing pedestrians, who do not appear to be remonstrating with the cyclist. That leaves us with a slightly slow turn across the path of the camera vehicle which appeared to have slowed down in anticipation of it; perhaps the cyclist took this as facilitation. The only thing missing serms to be communication between the cyclist and the cammer, nothing to do with cycle handling. Or did I miss something?

I wonder what 4:10 was about. Was it a brain fart or distraction? Something vaguely similar happened to me a few weeks ago on a HGV driving test where I had to take the first exit, but the first exit wasn't the 'first exit', it was the entrance to a residential. By the time I realised, I was already committed to taking the road and had to reverse a HGV in a tight space. In my defence, I was absolutely knackered from lack of sleep and it turned out I had been coming down with a really nasty flu and chest infection. Because I was feeling like crap, I decided the best thing was to not 'concentrate' on driving and just drive on a sort of autopilot, which would have been fine under normal circumstances since it's more or less how you drive naturally because it's second nature. Unfortunately, passing a driving test is different to actually driving. Needless to say, I failed and to top it off, it turned out I'd been driving on an expired licence, which I'm still waiting to be restored.
