how many of these do gooders have sat and watched a loved one suffer till the end, my day was bed bound in a hospital type bed for months, with swollen legs, ulcers, carers coming in three or four times a day to help with his care, cleaning him until he went on a driver then his brother, myself and my brother and mother sat for four days watching him slowly die as his lungs filled with fluid until he drowned in his on fluid and heart stopped. he died on his brothers birthday. my dad just wanted to die with dignity, not to be man handled daily by strangers, cleaning him. suffering daily from cancer. how is this acceptable.

I've never met anyone who doesn't support assisted dying. The nation isn't split on it at all, it's MPs who have a sick kink out of watching people suffer

I watched my grandad for the last year suffer considerably and he asked to be ‘put to rest’ many many times… he was bed bound and his quality of life was non existent… watching him suffer like that was brutal his tough body just wouldn’t give up… this needs to happen as it’s beyond cruel watching people suffer like that
@christinekelly591611 сағат бұрын
I simply can't understand why this hasnt been legalised. Of course checks are required, but it's my life - nobody elses - so I should decide. If I have the courage and the means, I will take care of things, if not I'll just have to suffer. Cruel.

This is, quite simply, a matter of personal choice. I have no wish to interfere with the personal choices of others. I deeply resent the interference of others in my personal choices.
@briankerrison850412 сағат бұрын
Hasn’t been rushed through..it’s been discussed for decades.. we lag behind others understanding of a dignified death..+ what personal choice should be.. or children will still come home from school & find a parent hanging or laying in a cold red bath.. catch up..or get out of the way.. the state should have no control on a personal dignified choice..🤔🤔

The drafted bill has been rushed through certainly, it's a mess and the Yorkshire MP leading the charge has also shown a lack of rigour as it relates to precedent

Look people it should not be forced .unless people stop protesting about the budget on nhs . They need to understand .what i was talking about was people who was in coma families have the choice to turn the machine or not.unless the doctors giving hope to families or not .obviously not many countries have nhs .some people have to pay eachday the patient stay in the hospiyal and doctors are not giving hope patient family out of money so they make desicion about that.if this put the country in two then you should avoid this desicion.but then no ome should complain about the budget on nhs.its people desicion and authorities.

Have you ever watched a love one suffering a cruel and painful death? Have you ever had a loved one beg you to help end there suffering? I have, not once but twice and I don't want to see anyone suffer like that again. Even with palliative care some cancers/diseases don't respond to this and the patient suffers a horrendous death. Twice I've witnessed a loved one suffer from oesophageal cancer and it was so distressing to witness there pain. Assisted dying must be allowed as a way out to end suffering. I personally want to have this option. Your dismissal of this is worrying and selfish
@musicmusic659510 сағат бұрын
@@chrisrichardson774 Well said and i agree with all your words. It really worries me when i see people opposing this bill stating silly reasons. Seeing people suffer horrific deaths is not humane in any sense of the word.

@@chrisrichardson774 Define suffering. I've seen plenty of people suffer horrific lives. That doesn't give me the right to end them.

Dying with dignity peace and quiet. If our palliative care system was adequate that would be good for most, but it still doesn't deal with those of us dealing with terminal painful disease.
@Zolipants12 сағат бұрын
Why this is so difficult?? everyone got the right to do whatever the fuck they want to do with their lives.
@lilbubz28039 сағат бұрын
"everyone got the right to do whatever the fuck they want to do with their lives" this is an assisted dying bill. Your "erm I can do what I want" argument ends when you require the state and doctors to do the dirty work for you.

How come other countries can have assisted dying with no problems man should decide when he or she wants to leave this life.
@nulldmg2711 сағат бұрын
The very basic idea of euthanasia gives a sunshine and roses definition that's very hard to argue against: "My Dad suffered, and he didn't need to". If you want to know where these types of bills lead, look no further than Canada. People are being coerced into taking their own lives when they do not need to. When you have a system of tax-funded healthcare, the tax burden introduces some weird behaviours.

My mother had MND. My sister, a nurse looked after her feeding, toileting, catheter, turning; until she could do no more and she was admitted to hospital. When she came to, finding herself tubed for feeding she rebelled and pulled 5he tubes out. After the second time the doctor decided that she had made her decision and then on only had water swabs. It took her ten days to die.
@musicmusic659510 сағат бұрын
But this isn't Canada, this requires 2 doctors and a judge to sign off on and requires a terminal diagnosis.

"This will ensure people don't live in agony" that's what being alive is. Life isn't supposed to be a pleasure cruise. You don't start arbitrarily giving people the right to end others lives just because they say so. This can only end in abuse.
@StevenScarr-oj4mg11 сағат бұрын
It's totally wrong for instance if you had a pet say a DOG and you was letting it suffer in pain the RSPCA would be at your house in no time take the animal away then you would end up in court for cruelty to animals - it's weird
