Awesome reaction to one of the best drummers in the business. He has had such a great impact having replaced Nightwish's legendary drummer, Jukka, who unfortunately was afflicted with a sleep disorder that made it impossible for him to continue. Thank you for this and hope you continue to explore more of Kai with Nightwish.

That's one of the places where he really gets to shine, because the style of music and his freedom to compose for himself. So he could come up with stuff that really pushes his limits.

Awesomr! I liked it, my favourite is "Dark chest of wonders" but I have also request, Kai's drumming in band wintersun, song: land of snow and sorrow" would be marvellous

To play that song in that tempo and in 6/8 time signature is not a easy task, but for Kai is like nothing. He just sitting there and having fun. Watching him playing jazz or deathcore while he is smiling doing that is FUN!

There's also a drum cam of 7 days to the wolves! It was recorded last summer at Vaasa. Brilliant it is! 🥰 And always a huge recommendation to Tribal (drum cam) 😊

Kai is technically better, but Jukka is my all time favorite drummer. He had amazing stage presence and groove, and he knew what song needed that it sounds Nightwish. Perfect examples are middle section of Storytime and the ending of Ghost Love Score. They just sound so much better with Jukka on drums. This song is from Jukka's era too. But Kai is a fantastic drummer, and he can play much harder stuff than Jukka.

I agree. Kai is the better drummer but the stage precence and attitude from Jukka is undisputed.

Kai is an awesome drummer. It's just that Nightwish for him is more of a retirement plan. If you want to really hear what he is capable of - try the stuff that he played with Wintersun. :)

It’s hard to say, witch one is better drummer. I love both Jukka and Kai. Maybe Jukka is more interesting to watch, and has wider movements. Kai is more like a smiling metronome.

Not about Nightwish, but have you ever watched Sina Drums? Especially stuff like The Who covers or Deep Purple? You really get some insight into how different Moon was and the power that Ian Pace added to the sound.

Kai's techinal cabability to play drums is better than Jukka's (previous drummer), but Jukka is beloved by Nightwish fans and will always be, so there is no better or worse between them two. And additionally Kai helped Jukka when Jukka was still the drummer. The respect between them two is huge, so let's not start to arrange them in any order, other than who was the first and who is the second.

He is an amazing drummer, the best of Nightwish.. Hmm Jukka Nevalainen was a diff drummer but also good! The both have diff styles! I am a fan of Kai.but also of Jukka, tbh cant choose between them! Maybe Kai, but then ONLY cause he is the current drummer!

To really understand the level of playing Hahto is capable of you should check his non-nightwish videos, Nightwish is after all pretty simple when it comes to drums, or any instrument for that matter

Kai is a technical master but compared to Jukka I find it a bit cold. Jukka may not play as technically perfect as Kai but there is soul in his playing. Iceman to Maverick. Or Jedi to Sith. Don’t get me wrong, Kai is an awesome master of his trade. Jukka for me though.
