It was a typical case of silly Indian protectionist policies that delayed everything by years and was a fairly standard example of India shooting itself in the foot! Ditto for Carrefour trying to enter the Indian market, they could've taught India how to do cold-chain storage and transportation properly and yet Indian hubris got in the way! @SenorSol
@SenorSol Ай бұрын
@@phoenixlegend2921 I don't disagree with many of your points, and Brexit and its political ramifications has adversely impacted the UK in numerous ways, including immigration from outside of the EU. I've long argued that allowing Indian students to live and work in the UK AFTER their university courses have finished is a win-win for all concerned, but unfortunately immigration (in particular illegal immigration) has become a hot potato political issue in the UK and people are genuinely concerned that the UK is 'too full'. Visas and how many are issued is a major sticking point between India and the UK as regards an FTA. I can see the Indian point of view but UK citizens are genuinely worried that too many Indians will come over, mainly because of the size of the population and the lack of jobs in India, and flood the market. India would obviously have the same concerns if the situation was reversed, and seeing as so many of India's business practices and FDI rules are protectionist and constricting then the GOI is consciously aware of the issues. The UK is a small island, it simply doesn't have the land mass that India has, so numbers of immigrants are a real concern. Put it this way, all the Indians I know in the UK who came here for study and then work don't want to go back to India.
