Welcome return, I needed the driving on the other side fix after all this time. I always preferred M2 A2 to get to the dock. Chased the 02:10 crossing twice a week for years and was always a couple of minutes quicker than the 20 for some strange reason, even though the distance was a bit longer.
@d1986scott4 жыл бұрын
bren106 there’s not much in it atall is there i prefer the m20 but the way the roadworks are down there at the minute it’s probably easier on the a2 I might start using it more often

Happy days - Daniel Scott is back 😃 A man who uses a map! Fair play to you mate - sat navs are all well and good but you can’t beat having a map to hand 👍🏼 It’s great to see you vlogging again Daniel - I do enjoy your videos. 32:37 If I understood it right, the fact you did another hour out of Calais means you don't have to do 4h30m + 45m break + 4h30m + 45m break + 1h to that planned rest stop. So in essence, you shaved an hour's drive from the following shift (which would be a tenner with an additional break) and made it a standard niner with 1 break. Total time saving 1 hour and 45 minutes. Correct?
@d1986scott4 жыл бұрын
MackP although I shaved an hour from the following shift, it was an hours driving that I did the night before. So essentially I didn’t ‘save’ the hour as I still drove it, but I did save the 45 mins by not having to have the extra 45 minute break

Hi Daniel, When you were in the states, did you fancy working over their. I have been driving over here for about 5 years now, and its a whole different ball game. I know you like long tours etc, so the work schedule here would probably suit you ok. I am an Owner Operator and leased on to LandStar. So the work you take on is your choice and you can also take the freight lanes that suit you and the type of work you want to do. I do a lot of coast to coast freight. ( lots of Drivers do not like going to California because of their stringent laws ). Any way keep up the Videos as it reminds me of my European driving days...............

Landstar the bottom feeders of the US trucking industry
@anthony16364 жыл бұрын
@@gremmie666 Again depends on your outlook. I know many leased on operators who make a good living on Landstar, myself included. I have tried others and from my perspective Landstar have been straight with me. Its really Horses for Courses. And what ever floats your boat..
@d1986scott4 жыл бұрын
I would love to have a go but it’s almost impossible for me to get a sponsor or a working visa. And I’m kind of out off by the fact a lot of people are paid by the mile which means you really have to put the driving in to earn your money. But the adventure side of it and seeing all the different states has always interested me
@anthony16364 жыл бұрын
@@d1986scott Hi Daniel, Yep it would be paid by the mile. And yes Maximum hours most days to make it pay really well as a company driver. I decided to go o/o and lease on to a company as it gives you a bigger choice of the work and mileage that you want to do. Here at Landstar once you have gone through orientation and are allocated a Trailer. You are on your own. They will not babysit you and expect you to arrange your own work, through their Load Board. But to be honest I love it this way as I have said before, I run coast to coast maybe two trips, then have a full week or more off. But hey I still do miss running Europe, and one day I still may return to the fold...

Hi Daniel Scott. I was beginning to wonder when your next vlog would be. Welcome back. Any big tours you doing this year? P.S have you ever heard of the game called Euro Truck Simulator2? Theres always map dlcs added every year. the biggiset one thsi year is Spain and Portugal are coming to ETS2. For the French lorry drivinbg ban, whata happens to the trucks whick come across from england into calais ferry port on sundays? Spotted an Amazon Prime lorry at 40:03
@d1986scott4 жыл бұрын
Thomas Hodson not sure what work I have lined up at the minute tour wise. Ets I have seen people playing it it looks pretty good although it doesn’t interest me as it would be like working in my free time lol. There is a road in France the a16 runs north of Calais up to Belgium you are allowed to drive on that road on sundays, so there is a way to get out the port and get parked or head to Belgium and from Belgium to Calais
