One of my favorite things is watching reactors discovering Angelina for the first time. I discovered her for the first time on AGT Champions. Since them, I never end a day without listening to her. Angelina was born in Oslo, Norway, and has lived for extended periods both there and in Los Angeles. She also lived for a time in the Middle East and speaks English fluently. If you want to be really blown away, perhaps you can react to her singing "I who have nothing" - originally sung by Shirley Bassey and later by Tom Jones - An early studio recording - filmed by her grandma on a camcorder. Angelina discovered this song on KZbin, she said that she really liked the melody and the picture of Billie Holiday "shouting at the sky". Later Angelina visited a local record shop, she browsed through the vinyl albums and found Lady in Satin, by Billie Holiday - she bought the CD version, the first track was I'm a fool to want you. She went on to sing that song in the next round, the judge cuts, a cappella, she had just turned 8 years old, she stood there in front of the judges and other contestants, completely fearless - they might just have announced her as the winner right there and then!

There is something unearthly at work with this performance and in general with Angelina Jordan Astar. The jazzy, soulful voice and approach to Gloomy Sunday (aka The Hungarian Suicide Song) by a girl around her 8th birthday, makes one believe in reincarnation or something else which can't be proved. Angelina is my all time favorite musical artist and it is not even a close contest.

Yves Harms, everyone keeps talking about Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra. I'm 67 years old and have only heard the version by Sonny and Cher. Grew up in Texas so don't know why I never heard her version. Oh well.😎😎😎😎 Just looked the song up; written by Sonny Bono and released in 1966 so Nancy is not the original artist.

The judges, needless to say, were completely blown away that a 7-year-old could give us such an amazing rendition of this Billie Holiday jazz classic about a sad Sunday. A star was born, and the rest, as they say, is herstory--an epic novel which Angelina is still writing!

Just FYI, the evidence is looking more and more like she actually did this audition on 2014-01-25 in Oslo. I know that doesn't make sense, since she said on stage that she was 7, but the venue and the audience members behind the judges are the same as another audition (of the large singing ensemble called VIVA) that definitely took place on 2014-01-25 in Oslo, according to the group's own Facebook posts. Like Angelina here, they were assigned a competitor number starting with a 7. All the other acts I've checked (i.e., seen the auditions of) who had numbers starting with 7 auditioned in this same venue (but not all in front of the same audience, although the judges were dressed the same) - and some of those videos identify the location as Oslo in their titles - whereas acts with other initial numbers (2, 3, 4, and 5) auditioned in different venues (and the judges were dressed differently - unfortunately, none of those videos identify the locations in the titles). For the record, while contemporary articles differ in terms of how old they say Angelina was in her audition, the earliest article I know of that mentions her by name (an article on TV 2's website published on 2014-03-05, two days before her audition was broadcast) does state that she auditioned in Oslo (not just that she was from Oslo). The confusion continues…

Thanks a lot for updating me on this Donald. Judging by the length of her left front tooth in her first audition and her second audition (which by my information is supposed to have taken place on February 7th, 2014), it does seem to me to be possible (perhaps likely) that those two auditions took place just a couple of weeks apart, because her left front tooth looks almost the same length during the two auditions. By contrast, it seems almost fully grown in by the time she sang Bang Bang, which by my information is supposed to have been on April 11, 2014, or a little more than two months after her second audition. If she had sung Gloomy Sunday on November 24, 2013, there would have been almost two and a half months between her first and second auditions, and I would expect in that case that her left front tooth would have grown about the same amount over that time span as it did between her second audition and when she sang Bang Bang. Also, I would have expected her second audition to have taken place closer in time to her first audition, if the purpose of the second audition was because they needed to narrow the field of contestants for the televised performances to come. So, those two considerations it seems to me support the idea that her first audition may in fact have taken place on January 25th, 2014. Is there a video available of the VIVA audition from January 25th? It does seem very strange, however, that she told the judges she was 7 years old at her first audition. She would certainly have known whether she was 7 or 8, especially given the fact that her 8th birthday (and presumably birthday party) was on January 10th, 2014, just two weeks before that audition (if it took place on January 25th). Of course, Angelina could probably clear all of this up for us, so, Angelina if you're out there reading this...

@@9Ballr TV 2 has a playlist called "Norske Talenter 2014" on their channel containing 39 auditions (one posted twice, with and without the judges' comments), 1 second-round multi-act "dance battle", 6 semifinal performances, and 9 of the 10 final performances (with Angelina's final posted twice, in SD and HD), plus a short promo for the finals and the opening number of the final episode, both of which featured all 10 finalists, and 2 hidden videos. Notice how some acts, like VIVA, have a "D" at the end of their contestant number, while others (like Angelina) don't. It has been conjectured that this might indicate acts that were invited "directly" into the televised auditions, bypassing the usual precast process, because that's what happened to VIVA, but I find that interpretation questionable since more contestants have that final "D" than don't. Finally, it may or may not be significant that almost all of the posts at the bottom of the playlist (presumably indicating that they were added to the playlist first) had no "D" in their numbers, while almost all of the remaining auditions, higher up in the playlist, had a "D". (The order in the playlist does not quite match the order in which the videos were uploaded.) [Edit: corrected info about the mix of videos in the playlist, and added "quite" to my final sentence]

Angelina is so good that you can go to any song, any style, at any age-and you’ll be amazed like you were here. This was her audition on Norway’s Got Talent. Her next song was another Billie Holiday classic, I’m a Fool to Want You, and Angelina does this one a cappella because-why not? It’s no problem for a 7 year old, right? If you like Billie, you must watch it. Then her actual competition performances are Summertime and Bang, Bang. They are jaw-dropping good. As I said, you can go anywhere in her career and be blown away, but the NGT songs convey the amazement and excitement of the audience and judges who first saw the girl who’s become the most captivating and mesmerizing singer I’ve ever heard.
