I don't always agree with John Anderson but he was spot on here. Saracen: Gladiators must stop after either them or contender cross the line. Hunter: Gladiators are not allowed to grab the Contender and throw them to the mat and pinning the contender down is also against the rules

Unless I'm mistaken, despite being fairly honourable, Saracen is the only gladiator other than Wolf to get a red card from John Anderson (for an illegal headlock on Hang Tough).

Good call by John this time. If Gladiators were allowed to cross zones that would make it 2 on one for a time and Gladiators are not allowed to grab contenders like Hunter did and he admitted to pinning him which is also illegal. Everybody's eyes saw him get through

actually they're not surprisingly - although they're made to act in a certain manner scripted according to what the production company feel is right - ruins it. Yes, they were both disqualified because Hunter wouldn't let go and kept bashing him and Scarasen was taken off for putting his feet in the next zone which is a big no no.

To be honest, I disagree slightly here. I'm sure contestants/friends etc used to ask for clarification on the rules fairly regularly, they just weren't broadcast. This particular question did make the TV cut though. It was a fair question, asked politely, with a straightforward response that didn't cause any issues. I expect this was probably during the downtime whilst the production crew were getting the next event ready anyway, so John Anderson would have had time to have a quick chat.

@@skaterkid901 as someone who attended the filming the fans/supporters used to complain all the time but nothing was ever done. This was only made something of in series 7. Nothing like this in series 8. It’s a good feature but it’s the guy doing it who’s the issue. He comes over as a bit of a prat and quite smug. Later in the series Maris Wards supporters rise a similar issue and they do it well and politely.

John Anderson. The only ref I will ever like. Refs in all other sports are balding, shrimpy and unpopular twats and the crowd love it when something humiliating happens to them. Pushed over (Thank you Di Canio), fall over trying to back heel a ball, prance about a pitch like a gaylord or just be universally hated and I think everyone in the world agrees with me. Clone John Anderson, put them in every sport event in the world. Then I will be happy and I'm sure everyone else will be too! Peace!
