And when you are all watching this 2nd heat of the 8th series 1999, after Gauntlet, Piers Bryant had picked up an injury from his shoulder where he hurt it on the wall in Saracen's sector and if he couldn't compete 2 more events then there would be a substitute contender he would be replaced by.... Dave Walter (Series 7 1998 Champion) (sport masseur, but previously KFC fast food waiter from Exeter, Devon) as a standby.

Why the hell did Mark have to restart at Hunter's section when he'd already got past him. John Anderson really did not like him. Also he was past Cobra at the end so why did he only get 2 points rather than 3?
@cameronyoungcg92702 жыл бұрын
He had to redo Hunter because he blew the whistle before Mark reached the white line. Presumably the 2 points are because he wasn't fully over the white line when the hooter went (he was on it), therefore hadn't cleared the section.

In Mark's Run of Gauntlet, he first goes over the side himself, 2nd he attempts a front-roll which he might've got away with in 1993-1994 but it was illegal as it dislodges the Gladiators Ram-Rod, 3rd he gets into a wrestling match with Hunter after trying to free himself from his clutches & 4th he only gets awarded 2 POINTS instead of 3 POINTS making his supporters outraged indeed, wonder if Jeremy Kyle would've been around to break it up. I do think he should've got 3 POINTS because he did force COBRA to cross his white line and ACE should've let Mark into his sector.

And then Dave comes in fresh as a fiddle, no Gauntlet, no powerball, no atlaspheres, with a points lead for doing nothing? LOL
@jonathanhockey9943 Жыл бұрын
The production team also against him by ignoring what looked like a real painful fall for him in hang tough, and by awarding him only 2 points preemptively in Gauntlet when he got through 3 zones. The whole thing seems like a stitch up. Well and good he did some bad stuff with the gladiators backstage, well then don't invite him back for this show, have Dave as the first choice and Mark as a back up, so we can at least watch a fair contest, rather than this shit show.
