It's a societal problem not a sharp edged metal implement problem. If someone has ill intent they can do damage with a stout wooden stick ground to point on a paving slab.

It’s never the tool, it’s the intent. It was less than two weeks ago that a young gentleman (let’s just say he wasn’t a native inhabitant of this country) threatened to stab me with probably the biggest decking screw I have ever seen. Needless to say some words of discouragement and a picture painted in his mind of what was about to happen to him made him reconsider.

I have this sort of attitude to how people behave rather than what they look like......cos at the end of the day, a scrote is a scrote, regardless of their origin......and as it happens I don't discriminate age wise either, some scrote comes at me with bad intentions, I'll happily sortbthem out regardless of their age....and yes that DOES include "children ".

What the government do not seem to understand is that law abiding people abide by the law. Criminals just ignore the law. Outlawing knives does nothing to stop criminals having and using knives.

Reading the comments here and on similar videos, it seems clear that every normal citizen knows how absurd this situation is. It seems like it might be time to start thinking about and discussing solutions to this issue. If people don't start standing up, with a view to challenging and rolling back the absurdity, it will continue. These things don't stay still: they go in one direction or another. All of this legislation is in contra people's basic human right to make, sell, purchase, use and carry useful tools. Tools which have been fundamental to human culture from time immemorial.

Just looked it up myself and you are correct. It's pretty cheap too at just under £20 in 440 steel with a full tang blade. Looks like a piece of junk. Anglo Arms are apparently a UK company making a variety of inexpensive blades, axes and crossbows, all made in China I'd wager. From the looks of many of their items they might not be viewed favourably by the government. Most of their products are tat that might appeal to a certain demographic. To be fair a few items don't look too bad either.

I have several machetes/parangs, and had to go check the legislation, because the UK papers were so damned inaccurate. They are all fine. The only thing that was affected was my choice of a cleaver for my kitchen. My first choice was thick, but had three holes in the blade. I had to find a slightly thinner cleaver, that had a single hanging hole. There are a whole range of traditional martial arts weapons that are going to be impacted by this legislation. Nine ring swords, hook swords and even sai spring to mind.

If it became "fashionable" to go around "carrying" a length of 4 by 2 as a weapon, you would need a permit to buy a length of carcassing from B&Q. The issue is the people who carry / use these knives. But the powers that be have now let it all go so far they can do nothing about it. Hence this stupid legislation.

If it's less than an 8 inch blade it can have any of the banned features, over 8 inches, it can't have any of the the banned features. Go and rear the legislation again. The illustration and probably the wording is deliberately wrong, so you can't contest the facts in a legal discussion. The illustration or dimensions are made vague or slightly confusing then the law or police could legally deem what is right or wrong. If it was made simple and easy to understand, then you could put up a legal challenge. That is one thing the police or authorities dont want. 11:37
