Do you want to see what I've got in my prepping pantry? In this video I show you as I organised and store my prep supplies. I have had so many people ask to see my prepper store that I decided to show you as I re-organise it. #costoflivingcrisis #prepping #shtf
These are the shelves I bought from Amazon UK amzn.to/3Js8Io7
In this video I explain how I sold some of my furniture to buy prepping food. • I Sold My Furniture To...

I find it safer to put the toilet rolls on the top and the heavier items on the bottom shelf. It stabilizes the shelf having the heavy stuff lower and the toilet paper won't dent your head if it falls off.

I love your comment “I like to stand in here cause it makes me happy”. Whenever I get discouraged or sad about something, I stand in my pantry and it makes me happy. 😊 I love how you’re organizing your preps. I use file cabinets for some of my bagged or packaged items. If you ever need a little more storage space, you could add a shelf unit right in the middle of the room on that grey rug. I’d rather suck in my breath and squeeze between shelf units than have to stop prepping cause I ran out of room. I’m in the USA, and I love your accent. Keep up the great work! ❤

I know I'm late to the game on this video, but I wanted to tell you that it's really nice. I think you've done a great job with a wonderfull, useful assortment of shelves (I especially like the green ones where you keep your "tins" (we call them cans over here, but I like 'tins' better!). Just in the past two weeks my husband, daughter, and I have been consolidating my various "stashes" into one large pantry in our (never-used) guest room. With things the way they are in this world right now, it's a good feeling to be able to look in one room to see what you have an abundance of and what you need to refill. Thank you for sharing your prepper home grocery store! May The Lord Bless you and your family.

Well done! I’m in a bungalow too, however no spare bedroom to do this in because my daughter came home with her little boy, (not that I’m complaining) I’ve been squirrelling stuff away for a good while, hubby says I could fit a square peg in a round hole with ease, personally I think it’s because, where there’s a will, there’s a way, it’s amazing what you can do just by putting a bit by every time you go shopping.

You have done a fantastic job at getting this room prepared and getting the contents in. There are a few items you have that we do not have here in the US, like mushy peas. We have cream style corn, but not mushy peas. We don’t have suet in a can either. Suet is mostly sold in flat squares for feeding birds in the winter. We have lard, but none in tins, so this was very interesting. Blessings!

Hi Tilly, nice vid. Are you aware that when there is a disaster, emergency, you will literally have your entire street, family, hanger on ers, friends of friends, all turn up and you’ll be lucky if you come out alive? People will literally kick your door in and take the lot. This happened to us after we started with a few months. Some looser relatives discovered our supply and within a week we had all sorts turning up with every sob and hard luck story imaginable. Now I’ve moved. I have read that stacking tins 3 or 4 directly atop one another can weaken the seams of the lowest tins over time. Better to place a thin cardboard layer or plywood between each layer of tins. Personally, I place my tins in trimmed down cardboard boxes and stack these on top of each other to help distribute the weight. Also, although the storage in this video of tins directly placed on shelves is so attractive, I live in an area where we occasionally get small earthquake tremors. All those loose tins could easily end up on the floor at my home. Placing the tins in boxes with the sides trimmed down to 3 inches before stacking will provide a lot more stability.

That’s a pretty good size for a ‘box room’! My youngest had a bedroom 7ft 6 by just under 6ft- we had to have a custom bed made to fit in there when he got bigger! You are already very well prepared. Plus I bought a remoska check cooker to cut down energy usage whilst we still have electricity!

Looking at where your ceiling light is situated suggests that your house is built pre-1970, maybe even pre-WW2. I hope that your floorboards and joists are strong enough to carry all that weight. Explanation for non-Brits (or Brits under 50). Bedroom ceiling lights were always placed close to the window in working-class and some middle-class homes from the advent of electric lighting to newer builds from the 1970s onwards. This was for the sake of modesty. It meant the light was between the window and anyone undressing in the room so their undressed outline could not be seen through thinner curtains. Rich folks had the luxury of thick curtains of course.

Greetings from San Antonio, Texas USA. This is a fantastic pantry. Great shelving and very organized. I love your soothing voice. I can tell you are a lovely caring lady. You are well on your way to a fully stocked pantry. I’ve never seen a pantry with suet before. Is that a British thing?

Thanks Sharon, I have all of those things already, they just haven't been put back into the pantry yet. I would like to get to the stage where I have enough food to last my family for a year, but it's difficult really because of the shelf life of a lot of the food... We don't constantly eat tinned and processed foods, so can't keep rotating stock. I think anything that we can do now is better than doing nothing at all, and I'm hoping to do more of my own shelf stable meals so at least it will be healthier than buying al processed foods. ❤️💕xx

Yes I would love to see more if other want. The Lidl Mushy Peas are my favourite. The oat "sachets"... do you microwave them? If so, for the same time as the quaker? We've tried doing it with a lot of oats and they are not the same. The quick oats are steamed then dried so are quicker to cook and we've never got it to work. Haven't tried the asda essentials though. Thanks.
@rootofavalon3841
@rootofavalon3841 Жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, I do 27g of the oats, 180ml of milk and microwave for 2 minutes, then I let it sit for 2 minutes (exactly the same as I do for the quaker oats) I did aa blind taste test with my husband and daughter, and nether could tell the difference. If you give ita try I'd be really interested to know what you think of it.

@@rootofavalon3841 I'll see if I remember when we next go to asda (I don't like porridge). But if they don't like it, I can always find a simple - minimal ingredient, preferably no bake, flapjack recipe somewhere. What do you think of the muesli? It tastes nice, but for me the hazelnuts are very hard which makes me always pay out for Alpen as everything is flaked. I can't get Mornflake swiss style anywhere easily which is my 2nd favourite. My memory is bad but I will try I and remember to let you know.

Excellent vid! To make it elite level, turn it into a secret room by changing the door so it looks like a normal wall =) Pro tip, your cereals and anything else not in a can needs to go into plastic storage tubs, if you get a mouse in there, it will eat into the packets / cereal boxes and you will have a big problem very quickly!
