Dr. Qudaibergen (PhD Musicology) is probably the epitome of a Rennaissance Man. He is so multifaceted. He is at home on a horse high on the majestic mountains of Kazakhstan, in a pool swimming to keep his lungs built up, a Red Belt in Taekwondo. He is a lover of family, friends, (many of his band and background singers are musicians he attended music school with his entire life. You often see him toting around one of their babies or children. He is quiet but highly articulate. He is Muslim and believes Allah gave him life and he should, in turn, live the best life he can in every way to say thanks to his god. He lives by the most high moral values. Think Torah and Strict Christianity combined and he try's to live that to the fullest. While I have another singer I admire just as much, Dimash is truly the greatest vocalist in the world.

Peace, my dear friends😊 I'm also a new Dimash fan, and also enjoy thinking a lot about the meaning of things. I first learned about Dimash about a moth or so ago, and since then I have been watching his videos and concerts regularly. I even got my husband to watch him. I was of course surprised about his gifts, and I'm sure he has been blessed abundantly by the Lord. I felt in love with his voice; however, I was even more impressed by the way he behaves towards other people (his family, friends and fans, and everyone else). He's truly a kind and loving human being, and I'm sure his family did an amazing job educating him. And I know they are people of faith. I have listened to his songs about love, life, relationships, land, national heroes and more, singing in Kazakhstan, French, English, Russian , Chinese , Japanese, Spanish, etc... and I admire the respect and care he shows to learn and use each one of them. However I clearly see how important using his native tongue is for him, it fills his heart with so much love and pride, wich is completely understandable, and I totally support and appreciate. I've heard your coments about romantic love and about patriotism, which is another kind of love. And since I do have strong opinions about both topics, please allow me to expressed them I think the Romantic love that is refered to as "sinnful" in this song, is not the kind of satisfying or positive love that builds up relationship or that is beneficial both for members of love that overcomes difficulties and and finds understanding, love that gives strength or eliminates the fear with trust, but it is a selfis love that demands more and more without giving anything back, a sefish way of self enjoyment, self empowered, immature. ( completely different from the love Dimash sings about in the song love is like a dream). Now why i think it might be sinful? Because it is not a generous serfgiiving love, but a death potion that kills your value and individuality that destroys everyone and everything else that stands in between, eliminates everything that should be important , leaving only passion and obsession and has no need for anything else. It's not true love.. Its sinful because it doesn't look into building up a relationship where you're seeing yourself as a husband or wife, to share a life and find a future together, giving stability and working for a good outcome, seeking compatibility, positivity and selflessness. Passion doesn't last, even when it's slow burning, it has a sad ending, a bitter aftertaste. True love, God's love is patient, selfgiving, quiet and generous, food for eternal life. On the other hand, I believe that national pride is an important kind of love that helps us appreciate and understand who we are and where we come from, by learning about the past. It's important to be grateful for what we have freely receceived from those who dedicated their lives and efforts to building the Land where we were born. Patriotism is essential for the growth and strengthening of a healthy and strobg society. And Dimash is a very patriotic individual. He is very humble and appreciates all that he and country have gone through, he really counts his blessings. I think Dimash shows understanding of who he is as a member of his culture and shows one of the purpose of his life is to make everyone know about Kazakhstan. My friend we are not alone, we are part of everyone and everything that surround us. We are meant to be light, good children of the Lord and.productive members of our society. Each and every individual is unique and valuable. We have received specific abilities that will allow us to develop and communicate with others in order to connect and support one another. We can work together to build a better country and a better world. Blessings❤.

For those who like information about Dimas' songs: Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash. Hugs from Brazil! Yes, get to know Dimash for a while before ‘Sky’ because it shows what Dimash is all about. And you will appreciate it more when you know him! I think Stranger is a great one to view. It’s in English and very Game of Thrones. Ikenaide, in Japanese is very special. It’s in a studio, streamed for the Tokyo Jazz festival, during covid. It is very intimate.

The Story of One Sky is more of an endgame piece from Dimash, so I think you should do a few of his songs before analyzing it. I'd recommend Ikanaide, Love of Tired Swans, Stranger, Omir, Omir Oter, Ave Maria, Passione to say a few.

Love your reactions and def! Ikinaide is an ultimate master class in singing- absolute top 5 for me but starting with 'The Singer 2017' competition is probably the best way to start on a Dimash journey. But its not easy to make suggestions because its not often that a Dimash reactor is moved by and drawn to lyrics as much if not more than the vocals and not all his songs are about the lyrics some are just about his incredible voice. Not complaining.. I'm a massive sucker for good lyrics too.. We love this boy and want everyone who hears him to be touched and moved and to fully get all of it the way we do 😅 !!

Thank you for your comments. You are describing the feelings of Dimash about our world. All people are good. There are no bad nations, just bad leaders. People attending Dimash’s concerts come from 60+ countries. He speaks about this at his concerts. About his audience coming from many different countries and cultures and coming together singing songs not even in their language. He’s got fan clubs in over 100 countries. His words, “We’re all Gods children and need to live in peace. “The Story Of One Sky” is his huge message to the world. I think it’s a good idea to listen to some of his other performances first. Some suggestions, Ikanaida (first song he has sung in Japanese), All By Myself, Adagio(Singer competition), The Love Of Tired Swans(Moscow). I’m looking forward to more of your reactions. Bev

"The song Sinful Passion, was first performed in 1998 by the Kazakh group A’STUDIO and gained leading positions in the CIS charts. Sinful love soon visibly materialized in the clip with soloist Batyrkhan Shukenov. The talented vocalist left the band in 2000. Without the lead singer, “Sinful Passion”, recorded with the help of an English producer, lay in obscurity for nearly 20 years, never becoming a worldwide hit until Baigali Serkebaev seized it. He offered Dimash to play it in 2018, twenty years after its premiere. The words of the song are the inspiration of the famous poet and composer, People's Artist of Russia and Ukraine Ilya Reznik. Group A - Studio in 2018 celebrated its 30th anniversary. For his great contribution to the development of the culture of the republic, Baigali Serkebaev was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of Kazakhstan (here he plays the keyboard). Dimash can be safely called a magician. By the power of his voice and talent, the composition about sinful love came to life out of nowhere."

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than twelve(12) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. I always considered "reaction", in the sense of listening to music, as a natural feeling experienced in response to a situation or event. In my humble and unscholarly opinion, it's just a matter of how the music makes you feel without giving any deep or analytical thought. I guess like the saying, "go with the flow." I listen to Dimash for the way his music makes me feel inside.

Thank you so much for this insightful analysis! Love your approach to art ❤ And i agree that its not a reaction but a mindful, calculated response really..which can look different than how youd react to it if you were watching it on your own or with a friend..the awareness of being observed (and eventually judged) by the viewer definitely can take away from your getting emersed in the experience sometimes..and its totally normal imo. Plus you have a title (professor) and it might make you want to live up to the real or imagined expectations of the viewers that you should say something smart after every pause :)

Love Is Like A Dream would be a good step forward from this song. It was written about the time Dimash was born and examines the fears and risks involved in love and how you need to face them. Dimash's first performance of the song was in 2019 in Moscow at the tribute concert for Alla Pugacheva, the first singer of the song. At that 2019 performance, the composer is playing piano accompaniment, just as he did for Alla Pugacheva in 1994. The song was re-arranged some for Dimash, so it fits him very well and once again makes it more his own song. He is a very different singer than Alla Pugacheva, so it was necessary to tailor it to him. Post Edit: The song is in Russian and has excellent English subtitles. Dimash is fluent in Russian and I suspect you can tell the difference in how comfortable and expressive he is in Russian and Kazakh as opposed to other languages like French, where he is using phonetic methods. He is quite good at phonetic singing, but there is a difference.

Hello Nic, thank you for sharing your evaluation of each Dimash song; It's hard not to get lost in those lyrics and think about our own experiences. Dimash says very often, when he is congratulated in interviews for his vocal range, that for him it is of much more value that his audience receives the message of said song, and that in a certain way it motivates them to see themselves in their thought and actions as human beings. Honestly, I never get tired of watching his videos and the reactions and analyzes they give to his presentations. Greetings from Venezuela

I do find your reactions very interesting to Dimash, he also brings deep thoughts to my mind. Your comment about... 'why is it sinful?'. We hardly use the word SIN, in this world of 'everything goes' if it makes one happy. Perhaps it refers to periods of our lives we all experience at times, when we feel so happy,...so incredibly happy, that it almost feels sinful,...in a sense of,...'Do I deserve this much happiness? Oh god,...I don't want this to stop.' Until we except that we're deserving, a wonderful relationship might feel sinful. That’s my take on it. Greetings from an Australian fan.😊 🇦🇺

I love reactions when the reactor watches, listens and allows his face and bodily movements speak louder than any words. Gasp, cry, throw your hands up in the air, that’s a true Dimash reaction. And when it’s concluded, just say - I’m lost for words! Dears absolutely understand.

Dimash often leaves us breathless and speechless. Emotional. In awe! And that's OK. Sinful Passion was written by Baigali Serkebayev (the Pianist, of this band; A-Studio, whom you see there, and the original Singer; Batyrkhan Shukenov, (now passed) who was the front man, a composer and also saxophonist. The 'Trill' or Melisma that Dimash performed in this piece, just after 'the soprano section', is a traditional Kazakh mourning vocalisation, which he inserted - without prior notice to the band - as a mark of his respect. if you watch right to the end of this video you will see just clearly who Dimash is. As for going through his work; OMIR is very recent and very reflective of his career/ personal journey to here ( thus far }. It may be more useful to go through more of his back catalogue before getting to this piece.

The name of this song has always bothered me. Most religion teaches that this very human desire for a deep love is sinful. It fills much of humanity with shame. So Awful. The shame that comes with such a basic human need. I love this song, and the way Dimash sings it. I really think it is my favorite, every time I hear it. It hits me in every cell. Dimash described himself as a Wanderer.

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional Qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath. The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy. This is the first time he heard Dimash. He came out of retirement after seeing this competition to begin his collaboration with Dimash.

Well, maybe it's the described DEPENDENCY that the song "You saved me from an abyss" talks about - on the one hand, a person may feel SPECIAL when they are shown such great VALUE, but at the same time, it puts an enormous responsibility on the SAVIOR. And that is perhaps the -so-called'- 'sin' > which ends in the song with a SCREAM > GIVE ME! . . . well, as human beings often are, the fear of losing this security, demands: : GIVE ME more and again and again! It is never enough, right ?! 😊 By the way a song with this topic 'never enough' with Dimash > OMIR ! Greetings !

I loved your admission and decision in the middle of the reaction. I was just wondering myself how reactors can *not* be self-conscious (or distracted by the mental processes involved in trying to think of what you'll say later). When I watch reactions, I am drawn to a more personal and vulnerable approach. I love honesty and growth. ❤ And as technically incredible as Dimash is, he has said that to him, octaves are just a tool. That all he wants is to make his audience feel. To enjoy it, and not focus on how he does it. He's super humble. ❤ I subscribed for more. I can't wait to see your reaction to Omir now! 😊

TBH I wasn't looking forward to this reaction, but the thumbnail kept popping up over and over again and in the end I steeled myself and took a chance. I'm so glad I did. You are absolutely right, with Dimash less brain and more heart is simply essential. He gives, and we receive. That is the true nature of the interaction, and you got there in this song. I'm very happy that you did. You started to feel what his fans feel. Analysis can still happen when it happens, but it needs to be natural and unforced. Whenever something comes to mind, you can always share it, but otherwise you can be free to immerse yourself in the beauty, the joy, the strength and the pain. Dimash is a gift. It would be ungrateful not to accept it.

Sinful passion - perhaps love so deep it borders on obsession. "Give Me" he sings, almost demands, as though he can never be satitated. Dimash so explicity sings of the complications of emotions, the lightness and the darkness that you think he must be a very old experienced soul. I always say he illustrates archtypes so clearly in some of his performances (eg. El Amor En Ti) that he could have a degree in Jungian psychology.

Omir is a good choice for your next reaction since he composed the song and also wrote the lyrics for it. It’s the very first time that he wrote lyrics for a song himself. A lady from his homeland told me that he uses the Kazakh language in a very poetic way. Dimash is very patriotic but he respects all nations. He said more than one time that there aren’t any bad nations, only bad single persons. He is an ambassador for peace and unity in the world. Political stances, race, nationality, faith… it doesn’t matter to him, we are all human beings under one sky.

Thank you Dr Nic; love that you shared your self-introspection during the video. From my perspective, I, the audience member can connect with you more when you are so real like that. I say this with gentleness/non-judgment: I could see you were in the state you described, just kind of watching and doing the routine of reacting. What a beautiful, self-aware gift to give us that you talked about what was behind how you were doing with the reaction. Thank you; - no, *profound* thanks actually - for sharing to that depth, because now I want to keep watching more of your videos because I feel more connected to you as a human and that is at least half of why I watch your channel - 'companionship' with like-minded deep, heartfelt and insightful beings. The psychological stuff is equally valuable too - but when it flows naturally out of you is when it's much more impactful than if you are trying to fit our ideas of how you should react because of your position as a 'Psychology Lecturer.' Yes, you are a psychology professor, but more than that, you are a human being with a heart in addition to that expertise which is what adds weight and strength and impact to the psychological insights you share from time to time. I think we the audience still 'got' something from this reaction though this time it wasn't so psychological-based - but with the depth of self-introspection and personal sharing? Yes, that is an equally valuable gift and 'food' for us watching - that's my take on it anyway. It's like you're teaching us healthy psychology by how you relate to your own self - and that perhaps is even more valuable than any words you could say; "Who you are thunders so loudly I can't hear a word you say to the contrary." I forgot who said that, but it applies pretty well here I think. Thanks for your example as well as for your words, Nic. Enjoyed it. Take care. 😄♥

Hah, I grew up to swing and big band music in the home too. Learned to dance on Papas shoes. I think the 'sinful' passion might be due to tradition. Arranged marriages are still the norm in many eastern cultures. Having a desire for finding your own love would be sinful, but the yearning is still there.

Hello, regarding to your question, why passion is "sinful"? ...Dimash is an Artist, so he performs different "roles". The very word "passion" speaks of a kind of "obsession", extreme emotional attachment to someone or something. The song just talks about this type of love addiction, which quickly burns out and passes or turns into a painful form of relationship, which eventually will also end in one way or another
