This brings me straight back to my first relapse on heroin in Austin Texas. I’ve been sober almost 6 years, but this song puts me right back there.

Thanks man for not only a truly authentic reaction but for helping people who listen to this music feel less alone. It helps more than you know to see people connect to lyrics like this. It means alot. Best to you mate

The pain in Hayden's voice cuts deep and when he says "And I know I'll die alone" I believe that he has felt that pain far too often then someone should. Luckily, from the latest video of his that Gems posted 3 weeks back, he is doing better and living in Colorado with his girlfriend.

This may have been said in the earlier comments, but, to clarify, the lyric, "Sirens speak the tongue of broken men" refers to the mythical sea creature (Siren) that appears as a mermaid and sings songs that lure men close and eventually drown them. It's a brilliantly terrifying line in the song and I wanted to make sure people got the underlying meaning there.

This song picks at all the right scabs; stings to listen to, but just can't stop. Got the same chills watching your reaction as I got the first time I heard this track. Idk about you, but I listened to this song nonstop for hours after that first time.

I've seen benjamin todd and hill country devil live 4 times. And I've cried at each show. The level of emotion coming from the stage is just to much to bare.

Awsome job man, it got to you the same way it gets me. I.still have to take a deep breath through this song, every time I watch it or listen to it it's an emotional moment. Such a powerful song, the way he writes is pure poetry. This guy needs to be put out there, more people need to witness hill country devil. Just think of all the garbage now a days that is trending, "popular" and all over social media. Then think of this song, he is literally pouring his heart out and telling people of his struggles and soooooo many people have never heard his work. It's a shame that his amazing work is missed by so many. Well best one yet man cheers and I guess we will have to wait to see you do his new song that was just release on Gems. Cheers man and keep up the great work.

You did well on this one. I was worried about it changing your head space too much for the deep dive. The song is very brutal yet beautiful at the same time. You got the meaning of the song. Tainted points= used hypodermic needles. Bleach the points to kill the diseases. The notch upon the belt= don't use the needle too many times. First time I heard this song it took me a few hours to get it out of my head, it hit me that hard.

I dont get it only 278 views and 29 likes. I think I have 178 views myself. This is one of the most honest, raw and real musicians out there today. Hayden is an amazing artis, poetry to music. I can't get enough of his music, I have to give huge props to Gems. They seem to be the only people giving this guy a fighting chance. I just don't get it this guy is better than 99.6% of "country musician" on the radio. Dude keep up the great work!!!! I'm preparing for you to react to his new song. Its going to be emotional man, he can draw a person in and make you feel like your right there with him. Simply AMAZING!!!!!

It's definitely coming Brent. I can only assume that it's a little too heavy for some. I do get that. But I just love his music and his message so I'll continue to fly the flag. I love that Gems are giving him the exposure.

I appreciate that you interpret the lyrics. I wish more reaction channels would do this. You've earned my subscription, sir.

Another great video, glad I stumbled across the channel. Cheers from Newfoundland! A couple that I'm pretty sure you'd like: 1.) William Clark Green - "Tonight" Mount Vernon Sessions 2.) Blackberry Smoke - "One Horse Town"

I like Blackberry Smoke too, especially the acoustic version "Ain't Much Left of Me"

This song had me bawling first time I listened ,and I'm not a country fan.i appreciate the genre especially old blue grass...anyhow my background is different and maybe that's why I heard the song to mean different....but I took it from an addicts view.sirens from broken men o.d...bleached the ends..sometimes if u have a used needle they say running bleach cleans it ( prob not so much) boarding house because the judge forces you too.donated clothes and stupid chores must be done...bathing in the warmth she brings I figured he got a bit high weeping coz u feel like an asshole for giving in .grass is always greener on the other side especially if your about to hang yourself .kill a part of me ,get high one last time so sleep can come....false clarity .when ur high u think I don't need that crap I'm gonna do it and be sober ,shackles because no one wants to be an addict but no choice .rats get fat like big pharma rich while pushing disease...just my take of some of it .I enjoyed hearing your view
