If you're considering spending £7k on a used car, especially the cars you're looking at, you're hardly going to compromise so much to settle for a bog standard base model Sandero, even if it is brand new. After all, if you're thinking about buying a Sandero, you're obviously on a tight budget for EVERYTHING, including insurance, running costs, road tax etc. So this comparison is a bit pointless, imo. It would be more realistic to pitch the Sandero against a used Vauxhall Mokka, Nissan Quashqai, or even a Ford C-Max, cars from a similar market segment with similar running costs.

Just bought a Sandero Stepway and totally love it. Had a BMW 320d and it was great but low down, servicing was 2yrs but nearly £600, otherwise it was cheap to run and fast. But driving these days isn't particularly fun on Britain's busy roads, theirs speed cameras all over the place and when you do get a shift on there's always someone who wants to dither along in front of you, either that or you have some arrogant knob riding your ass. I would say the Stepway is well put together has well used Renault tech and not particularly 'cheap' 2nd hand either, they don't loose much in value after 3yrs.

If money aint tight, youll end up buying a better car... If money is so-so tight ull buy something used for less The only reason why ud buy a new dacia is either way that you need something for the rest of your life, that youre close to already or because you need a runaround and youre posh enough to "not to sit where someone else sat before" There is always a better alternative to base cheap cars... Even if its a 3year old car that has more equipment... Even if its a yaris Also im trusting in german/swedish/japanese engineering more than french... The 7000 £ price tag always was a joke - only few people really buy the poverty version of the Sandero. But yes, especially in the UK you can buy a former luxury car for 7000 £ - IF you are prepared to spend the same amount on repairs every year henceforth. Seriously - what are you getting at, drooling at 155 mph top speed, possibly more? Even if you can do entirely without your driver's licence - everything above 120 mph is purely academic, and I live in Germany, home of the unlimited* Autobahn (*conditions apply: local restrictions, traffic and enormous roadworks slow your average speed down below the level of a French Autoroute). In urban traffic, most of these cars are downright stupid. So although I've never driven a Dacia myself, I totally understand that many people are happy with basic motoring - and not just too daft to buy a used supercar.

For example, I wanted a bmw m135i, but they go for about 15-20k used. 8:44 The car has been violated , it says 5 owners 😓
@Solidcancer074 жыл бұрын
@Marc Archibald Yea it depends on the car model. Cheap 'first car' models like a micra, golf, a3 corsa can easily have 5+ owners but still have good reliability and running costs
@Solidcancer074 жыл бұрын
@Marc Archibald I said cheap first car. Many students have the cars I listed. Banger is a different question and your micra fits just fine there

Completely out of touch with people who have to live on a budget. The insurance and maintenance on old luxury cars are unaffordable. At best it's irresponsible. What people need are people who live on a budget reviewing cars designed for people on a budget - families, and the rest of the 50% of the population who earn less than the £50k this guy is obviously on. Look at insurance costs, costs to repair, weekly running costs. It's vital.

Do cars just become worthless in the uk? In Australia the s8 d3 starts at $45000 used, $20,000 for a 650i with stupid high km’s and a 8 year old Abarth 500 costs $15000
@GraveUypo4 жыл бұрын
haha. i spent 2 months of research before buying a used car, and if there's one thing i took out of it is that mileage is NOT what you should look at. literally 2 out of 17 cars i went personally to take a look had unadulterated milage. the rest averaged a displayed mileage below HALF of their true mileage. and that's on AVERAGE. So that "oh it's only 85 thousand miles" is a trap. Also never buy something you couldn't buy new. the car might be used, but the labor and parts for maintenance are all new, always.

Skoda Citigo 2018-2019 Monte Carlo Editon goes around £7000-8000 and properly one of best/most stylish city cars in the market. Great on insurance, petrol cost and maintenance costs is low. I would recommend 👌🏽

@@dannywhite132 I wouldn't be ashamed to drive a Citigo Monte Carlo. I reckon it looks pretty cool tbh both exterior and interior, everyone has their own tastebuds. Yeah it's a Skoda badge, but the inside is a VW; it has won multiple awards for best City Car so I can't be the only one who agrees 😌

I would prefer a base Dacia Sandero with black bumpers and no central locking. These sports cars don’t grab me. I test drove the Sandero but went for the Škoda Citigo as it is easier to drive (I am a driving instructor). But even if I was driving it myself I have little interest in sporty or flashy cars. Maybe I am weird. I like reliability. My family car is a 1999 Nissan Primera, which I have had for almost 12 years and is bulletproof reliable.
@harshitbaweja55944 жыл бұрын
Apart from huge repair bill when these cars break down somebody thinking of buying a Dacia would probably not like to pay huge fuel bills either, even if we assume those cars are going to be in great condition.

If you want a new car with warranty and not to worry about anything for 3 years, Dacia are a bloody good bargain. Boring as fuck to drive and boring to actually be in, but its a "Good" car.... But I'll stick to my 3 Series.

What people don't seem to understand is that if you budget is 7.000 for a used car, you can't buy a 7.000 Pounds car. You can buy a 5.500 to 6.000 Pounds car, and use the rest of the money to fix it up. Because even if you find a used car that is in the best possible condition, you will stil need to invest money in it to fix at least a few things up.
