34 years already and I have a fond memory of most of these as a five year old at the time, plus a fair few of these are played on radios today. Thanks Francis 👍 I believe the Steve Miller Band has the honour of being the only #1 to win on a tie break over Dee-Lite. Roxette really were a good group. Marie Frederickson is missed. Cliff Richard had a well received comeback then. I'm surprised 'Hold On To The Nights' was not a hit here, yet big stateside. A good time for rock music and the decade forged it's own identity from the start. Was Sonqiue the lead singer of S-Express at the time? My favourite on this list is 'Praying For Time by George Michael. Great song and from his best album 'Listen Without Prejudice'. Another joint favourite 'Dangerous' by Roxette. Classic track by a great group and a bigger classic on the double A-side 'Listen To Your Heart. Wonderful ballad. I also like the songs by Inxs, Billy Idol, Cher, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Dee-Lite, Beautiful South (I preferred the Irish girl vocalist to Jackie), Megadeath, AC-DC, Faith No More, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Maria McKee, Wilson Phillips, Depeche Mode, Bobby Vinton, The Human League (underrated track), Richard Marx, Twenty4Seven, Deacon Blue (beautiful cover), Londonbeat, Talk Talk and Sinitta's interesting cover of the Joan Armatrading classic. ❤

The Xpansions track missed the Top 40 first time round, then returned in late February 1991 and became a top 10 hit in March that year.

@@pauljmccluskey5532 You're so lucky. I think 1990 would be a great time to be a 19 year old. I was 4. But I remember many of these songs as my mum was really into music around this time. So we're all my uncles as they were all in their late teens to mid 20s. All a bunch of 50/60 somethings now. Time flies

I recall that back then, New Kids fans were concerned that Seiko might become the 90s version of Yoko Ono and cause New Kids to break up.

The La's should have had more hits. Their sole debut album was brilliant, although they never capitalised on it because frontman Lee Mavers was never satisfied with it and unfortunately he became a recluse.
