"Come on Eileen" one of my favorites: Siobhan Fahey (Bananarama)'s sister appears in the video

It seems like most of the Japan songs on the charts in '82 were re-releases of singles originally released in '79/'80.

Thanks a lot! Many songs still sound straight from the past decade, luckily soon there will be "Goodbye seventies" (as written by Yazoo). Roxy Music 2:34 and The Clash 2:52 both criminally underrated on their domestic chart..

Nearly a whole different set of songs from what was on the American charts at the same time.

June 1982...oh, the memories! I was a young one then, regularly roller skating weekend nights to some of the songs from this video at my roller rink. (The Norridge Axle of suburban Chicago) That month clearly remains one of the best months of my life. It was on the 4th of that month that I attended my senior prom and naively fell in love with my date for it. I felt for certain she was going to be my forever love, aka "The One". Alas, it was to be a summer love, as she told me goodbye just 2 months later. Bittersweet memories for sure! Like @paleksander5192 I agree with the assessment of Avalon by Roxy Music. The entire Avalon album did receive heavy play when it was released on Chicago's WXRT FM radio station..."Chicago's Finest Rock". Anytime I hear a song from that album/CD, I'm immediately time-warped back to those heady days of late spring '82, in Chicago.

I didn’t realise Family Man was originally done by Mike Oldfield and not Hall & Oates

I thought Rock the Casbah got higher than that. Criminally underrated, should at least have swapped peak positions with that David Essex one.
