Owdo Chris. Well bugger! Gutted, if I'd of known you were on my local fell I would have joined you for a quick sniffter. Fairsnape is a favourite of mine when a quick fix is needed. If you had headed a little further NNE from Brown Berry Plain you would have come across Langden Castle. It sounds grander than what it is but a great wild camp spot just above it. If you're ever up in Forest of Bowland again and fancy a fell top beverage then feel free to shout. 🤣🍺 Love the video as always pal.

What an amazing old church and it looked so welcoming inside to, love muching around old churches the architecture fascinates me but so christmasie inside though I'm not a religious man and that knurled old tree outside Beautiful, great start to the video again Chris you laughing at your nose warmer 😅 my lad has just moved to a house were we can see winter hill so got the incentive to have an explore out those ways, anyway as always Enjoyed watching you have developed your own style now and it's good, wishing you and the family good health and happiness for a Belated Christmas and 2022, Keep safe and well, Les.
@ChrisJB
@ChrisJB 2 жыл бұрын
How do Les. Yes, I'm not religious either but I am interested in visiting old churches. As for my infernal cold nose situation, I reckon only a balaclava can resolve the issue. I don't think I took enough food on on the walk which made me feel the cold even more than normal this time. There is some decent walking to be had in the West Pennines/Winter Hill area, I think you'll like it. I hope you and your family have had a lovely Christmas and best wishes for 2022. Chris

We have recently walked Forest of Bowland so know the area now. That church looked beautiful. You are so brave tolerating such cold weather especially wild camping. I like Bowland Shanita. Apart from a few 'honeypot' areas it tends to be quieter than many places. Chipping and its church is a lovely place. I might head back that way for a day walk and explore the area fully. The Kestrel gadget measures air temperature, wind speed and wind chill. You can get fancier models that do barometric pressure, etc, too. Best wishes for 2022.

For weight to space ratio, it is brilliant (and cheaper than a Hilleberg....though probably not constructed with the same level of craftsmanship).
