OMG The Ford Capri 2.8i Injection Back in 1982, this was the standard by which all other cars were judged by 157 BHP from a 2792 cc V6 Engine. 0-60 MPH in around 7.7 seconds and a top speed of around 130 MPH .. I know this is mainstream now in cars but back in 1982, this was RAPID. Can you just imagine the first owner driving this off the Ford dealer's forecourt on 18th September 1982...Putting the radio on and blasting this car on the motorway to the number one single ...Eye of the Tiger by Survivor ... Little did the owner know that this car WOULD be a "Survivor"

Ah the FSO Polonez, my favourite car. My grandpa had owned one it was a green Caro from i think 1995 used to love that car and my grandparents keep telling me how i cried after they had to scrap it because of rust problems and that was back when I was like 5 or 6 years old and im turning 18 today 😅. Great-grandmother also had one it was a red Truck for her little shop.

That car amazed us. We're so glad we featured it. We're big fans of the underdog here and that one punched well above its weight! I know people look down on cars like that now, but both Claire and I come from humble upbringings and know full-well how cars of that ilk gave families like our own a quality of life we wouldn't have had without them. They created great memories. Thanks for commenting - Elton

Great video! Great to see a FSO Polonez again! The last time I saw one was in the 1990s. They were one of the cheapest cars on the Dutch market back then (it was either the Fiat 125/Lada 1200-derived FSO 125P, also known as the Polski Fiat, or the Yugo that was the cheapest car in Holland back in the day). There was a dealership close to my home and I think I still have a box of original folders for the Polonez 1500 somewhere. There was someone in our village who still drove a Polonez up until 1996. I don't know a thing about E-Type prices but I guess the roadster will go for spare parts? For a restoration project the auction price is far too much imo

The limousine is great. Hopefully, you can get driven around occasionally. Loved that FSO, too, a part of automotive history, the cheap Eastern European car.

Limos can be such a laugh. They’re just ridiculous things 😂 I agree about the FSO. Whatever anyone’s views, they’re part of history and I’m glad this one’s being saved.

Not familiar with those cars, the polonez (being in western Canada and such though with a gaggle of eccentric collectors I'm sure there's a few around), but I have owned a number of hatchbacks like subarus and tercels etc, and there seems to be a kinship there, ugly and practical, just fix it and drive it, rinse and repeat though I do understand that is an old model in very good nick. Price on the jag was jaw-dropping and as a few have mentioned the price it'd take to get that right? Go get one you can drive for less I think. Fun auction thanks for sharing! :)

Great video, loved the cars, thought thad bond bug, wasn't expensive, the rest made very good money! The E type was flipping stupid money! Unless of course it was an ex racing car? Claire again a bit of a "highlight" and your not too bad either! Loved the BSA I've got a Bantam to sell if you're interested 😊😊
@Lot76CARS Жыл бұрын
Claire might have been less annoyed if you’d bought the FSO! I watched the sale and to be honest the barn finds prices (Corvette and E-Type) see illogical given the current cost of a professional restoration, surely you could buy a restored car for less? The Astra GTE was nice and rare but really £16,300 + fees😮. The Capri guide price always looked a bit conservative TBH. Another great auction video guys!
@UKBarnFinds Жыл бұрын
I’d love to be able to follow up some of these barn find auctions, as I often think the same. The logical conclusion would be that it’s the actual restorers themselves who are buying them. The maths would be mind-blowing, otherwise.

E type I guess that registration has a known history. The Henkel engine will run red hot if pushed hard. Subject of much amusement in its day! The doors were always known as forward opening. The word suicide is a very modern term. I owned a 2000 many years ago and it was a very relaxed drive.
@karlwebber162810 ай бұрын
And one more thing it's in development as we speak .insurance companies within the next 5to10 years all cars will be fitted by the way of digital box to monitor realtime driving and charge you in accordance with your driving habits. vintage cars won't be able to be insured for road use basically museum pieces and will be insured on house insurance all you will be able to do is start it and rev it on your driveway and sit in it

I am a Canadian from Edmonton AB, I have always been a car nut and used to buy Classic and Sports car just to see UK stuff as I needed something different from the US/Canadian stuff. I like the way you work together and am also a fan of Sleeperdude from the US. Your wife's knowledge is impressive. I also follow Jay Leno with whom I share similar tastes and Tom Cotter. I can tell your enthusiasm which I share but cannot participate because of my disability except by excellent shows like these. I barely watch anything else while using my tablet for gaming. Keep up the good work and thank you. 😊

Thing is what makes me laugh is the people selling a heap of rust that would never go through an MOT . Especially in the American market .this trend that started and the excuse used for a vehicles bad condition was called PATINA the new buzz word .that to me is like the council letting everything overgrow and calling it wildlife nature 😂😂 there are very few good classic cars out there and a lot of over priced hunks of junk with lipstick on . unfortunately proper restorations are expensive so next time someone tring to sell you a rusty sad excuse American pick up for the centemental value of say 15.000 when in a field in America someone would prb pay you to haul it of there land or buy for 250 bucks people don't fall into the trap the only people making money is the auctioneer and the seller who just suckered you to part with your money .when the fashion ends the patina crazy you will loose a lot of money then you have a major restoration you never get your money back fact
