Your first thought should be: "Hmm let's have a check to see if I've missed anything"... CHECK 👏 IF 👏 YOUR 👏 LIGHTS 👏 ARE 👏 ON!!! What are these brain-dead people thinking when somebody is trying to signal them from behind? Do they just carry on like: "Hmm the car behind keeps flashing at me...... oh well, must be nothing" You say that flashing your lights can't be helping much.... but the very reason for flashing your lights is to signal the other driver to put their lights on so that they can be seen and safe. I see people drive with no lights every single day when it's pouring with rain and every single night. I cannot exaggerate that. I have tried to signal them by flashing when they're in front of me and if they're behind me then I'll use my hazards and/or my rear fog lamp but to no avail. Only 1% of the time it works. The rest of the time, they carry on driving in their obliviously USELESS manner. Not trying to be a dick, we all make mistakes on the road.... Driving is my profession and I'm experienced. I see people being useless at it every day and I can tell they do it all the time. I can tell from the years and years of watching how other road users drive. It is my strong opinion that, unfortunately, most motorists are shit at driving. I mean, they can get from A to B and they may never crash.... but they just do it poorly and don't realise it.

Dashcammers, remember: (1) roundabouts are excellent overtaking opportunities; (2) when you have right of way, other vehicles cease to be solid, corporeal objects therefore you can drive through them, (3) if in doubt about a developing hazard, accelerate towards it so that you can get a closer look as soon as possible, while sounding your horn, because that enables other drivers to break the laws of physics.

@@dj_efk any vehicle on the roundabout has priority, you do not need to give way to a vehicle that isn’t yet on the roundabout (despite the car approaching far too quickly and with little or no intention of stopping) Unfortunately much of the footage shows the ignorance of the drivers who believe that they can approach any roundabout and automatically have right of way when they don’t. They should be prepared to stop as indicated by the road markings. The footage at 1.19 is a perfect example of no knowledge of how to use a roundabout.
@dj_efk4 жыл бұрын
@@mrjaffa5072 “ any vehicle on the roundabout has priority, you do not need to give way to a vehicle that isn’t yet on the roundabout” - I’m not sure that’s factually correct, could you quote word for word the Highway Code that backs this up? Here’s the link to it: www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/using-the-road-159-to-203 This is what I see, so let me show you why I posted the above comment: 1) Rule 185 When reaching the roundabout you should - give priority to traffic approaching from your right, unless directed otherwise by signs, road markings or traffic lights - check whether road markings allow you to enter the roundabout without giving way. If so, proceed, but still look to the right before joining - watch out for all other road users already on the roundabout; be aware they may not be signalling correctly or at all - look forward before moving off to make sure traffic in front has moved off. So you see, the Highway Code implies to me that you must give way to traffic approaching from the right (as in, give way if you can see that by not doing so you will cause the other vehicle to have to take some sort of action), irrespective of whether that traffic has reached the roundabout or not. This also assumes the approaching traffic is not travelling at an inappropriately high speed though doesn’t it, so it doesn’t let the bellends in these videos off the hook by any means either way. A lot of people have the same opinion as you on this exact point though, so one thing is for sure - it’s not 100% clear! Hope you find this interesting.
@mrjaffa50724 жыл бұрын
@@dj_efk The ‘give way to the right’ applies to the roundabout and vehicles that are already on it. The road markings (triangles and/or broken white lines) are to indicate to the vehicles about to enter the roundabout that they must give way. If you are already expected to give way to vehicles already on the roundabout, why would you assume that you would then be expected to give way to vehicles that are not yet on the roundabout? The rules from 172 are applicable as they are for junctions which is what a roundabout is: 172: The approach to a junction may have a ‘Give Way’ sign or a triangle marked on the road. You must give way to traffic on the main road when emerging from a junction with broken white lines across the road.

The reason why you do not do u turns or go aaround a mini roundabout is in the Highway Code which says you should not. Rule 188 Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal. Avoid making U-turns at mini-roundabouts. Beware of others doing this. Laws RTA 1988 sect 36 & TSRGD regs 10(1) & 16(1)

@@MagicM03 Your question simply is about drivers not going around when you should have ask why do drivers take mini roundabourts correctly. I would say Tall James needs to go back and re read his Highway Code before shouting his mouth off like it, but the driver of the other car does need to work on their visual perception at night because they had plenties of time to avoid that and I suspect that had Tall James gone to do a left to right swing the other car driver would have still pulled out in front of him. Just after the first exit, the lanes move over. The woman in the lane to my left (signed straight ahead) was also going right. She got in the lane to my left so she was already in position when the lanes moved... 😐 She had the gall to say I didn't know what I was doing and she drove that roundabout all the time. She also explained that loads of people don't know what they are doing because it happens to her all the time... 😐 I couldn't get her to understand the concept of a spiral roundabout. I did manage to get her insurance company to understand though... and they paid me out in full. 🤣

2:48 I remember this one. Truly atrocious driving from blue boy, even brake-checks the car behind.

Amount of drivers who don't know you actually need to slow down when approaching a roundabout.
