Nice video! Quite a unique bridge in terms of warnings and protection. Interesting to see the amber flashing lights being used instead of anything red, and also quite interesting to hear a white 'Apello' alarm producing a 'french fire alarm' sound too.

Yeah, it is quite an interesting set-up. The road is private and part of the marina residential area so I guess this is allowed

you got your tones correct well done

Love that they used a different type of light on this one instead of the usual level crossing type lights :)

This is just like the life bridge at Liverpool Marina - with different barriers and no lights!
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel11 ай бұрын
No lights? Is it manually operated or are there alarms with the barriers?

I was _at_ Brighton Marina the other week; where the heck is this thing? Think I'd prefer the standard AHB tones and lights. Those lights just imply "school crossing ahead" to me rather than "under no circumstances attempt to cross, even if you are an emergency vehicle".
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Жыл бұрын
The exact location is in the description, it’s right over the far east side of the marina and is where vessels can access the inner harbour. It is a bit weird seeing these lights used as they imply to slow down / reduce speed instead of stop.

School lights probably isn't the best option for stopping cars. Also would have been better with a 'bridge in operation' message rather than barrier. Still, great video and interesting setup
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it does seem a bit odd with yellow lights. This isn't a public road so I assume there's no regulation on what can be used here
@marietarallo3403 Жыл бұрын
It is a bascule bridge not a lift bridge. Here in Chicago, we have many bascule bridges over the Chicago River.
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Жыл бұрын
It is also known as a drawbridge or lifting bridge so I use the simple terms of "lift bridge" for the sorts where the road deck lifts up vertically or at an angle, and "swing bridge" when the road deck swings 90 degrees instead of lifting.

Why have they used school Patrol sign lights that would be very confusing they should have used level crossing lights instead of school Patrol lights
