I had the chance to ride a penny-farthing when I was a lot younger. It is an acquired skill that is nothing like riding a "standard" bike. I was always terrified riding one.

I own one of these lovely machines. They are an absolute joy to ride. One must be careful, though. A crash could do some serious damage to both the rider and the bike.
