Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has changed many people’s lives beyond recognition. Missile strikes have destroyed buildings and infrastructure and killed thousands of civilians. But each day, Ukrainians are trying their best to pursue a normal life.
Journalist Vassili Golod meets Ukrainians seeking to stay positive despite the horror overtaking their country. Like electrician Oleksandr Zinchenko, who works with his colleagues to keep the power grid operating despite repeated Russian attacks. Or singer Vlada, who lost the love of her life in the war. Her partner was killed on the frontline in Bakhmut. Having no words to express her pain, she’s composing music instead and giving concerts to try to encourage other Ukrainians. Therapist Oleksandr is also busy taking care of others. He offers one week therapy programs for soldiers to help them cope with their emotions and stay as stable as possible.
We hear stories of people, stories from a warzone, told by reporter Vassili Golod. He embarks on a journey through Ukraine, also visiting Kharkiv, the city of his birth, which has been the scene of fierce bombing.

Agreed. And, you know, although I'm not Ukrainian, I grew up around a lot of Ukrainians and Ukrainian culture, because a lot of Ukrainians settled here on the Canadian prairies, so it's always been something that's around, but I never paid too much attention to it, especially when I was young. When I got a little bit older, and travelled/lived in different parts of my country, that's when I noticed it more. This region is where there are a lot of Ukrainians, so when I lived in other places, I noticed it, just it small ways, like here perogies are a normal food, there's restaurants that specilize in them, there's fresh-made ones in the grocery store, there's always a zillion kinds of frozes ones in the grocery stores, too, but when I lived in other places in my country, places that didn't have the influence of Ukrainian/Eastern European food, they looked at me like I was craaaaazy for wanting it, it wasn't in any stores or restaurants, and some didn't even know what it was.

Incredible strength and resilience of Ukrainians is really inspiring. It's amazing how bright and positive they are despite this gruesome war, death and misery all around them. But that strong spirit will bring them stunning victory. I believe it happens soon - sooner than we all think. Loads of strength and support to our dearest neighbors

It seems many, if not most people in Russia don't support this war, but they're not allowed to say anything because of course they'll get 15 years in prison. And the ones who say they support it are just brainwashed by propaganda. it's a sad situation all around. GLORY TO UKRAINE 🇺🇦

The Ukrainian people are truly resilient and tough, they will never give up their freedom. How do I know this? My wife's Grandfather was Ukrainian and she has inherited these character traits, along with stubbornness, a will to succeed and also to do the right thing. These are the qualities that have kept them in the fight and prevented Moscow from completely taking over their Country. Слава Україні, Героям Слава!!🇺🇦🇺🇦✌️✌️

Vladimir may not have remorse but he must be having regrets. Not for the harm he is doing in Ukraine, he couldn't care less about that, but the harm to his reputation and for the laughing stock which his military has turned out to be.

@De Wizard im not really pro russia or America, i think America and the west in general are massive hypocrites when it comes to war. But russia have more nukes than any other country and thats what changes America's approach towards russia.

@@dewizard5761 Because NATO is strictly a defensive force and does not invade unless there was a direct attack on 1 of it’s members.
