'Ukraine's future is in NATO' - summit declaration
NATO leaders agreed on Tuesday (July 11) that Ukraine's future lies within the alliance but they stopped short of handing Kyiv the invitation or timetable for accession it sought, a stance that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier criticized as "absurd."

This is what started the war. NATO agreed to stay out of the block countries and the Soviet Union agreed to disband. Now we are upset because we broke the treaty and Russia reacted? Also why are we allowing access into NATO from countries that do not offer anything to NATO yet adds massive risk? Ukraine can’t offer anything if physical or strategic value to NATO but we are going to agree to go to war for them anytime a conflict starts. This is a bad idea. There are other ways to support Ukraine but adding them to NATO is a mistake.
