This leg on my trip to Ukraine, is the journey from Krakow to #Przemysl by Inter City train with PKP, the national carrier. The train leaves the main station Krakow Glowny at 0556 and arrives at 0932, leaving about 50mins to connect with the Ukrainian Rail train to Kyiv.
The train number is IC3172 and a first class seated ticket cost 56 Zloty or about 12 Euro. There was a cafe on the train that had a good range of food and drinks.
Prezmysl was the scene of the chaos many saw on the news when the war started in Ukraine and people were fleeing the country into #Poland. This was the main crossing point. Now there is an influx back into Ukraine, there were huge numbers of Ukrainians heading back after months away from fathers and husbands and their homes. Many felt safe enough now in the West and Central Ukraine, to return.

@@BitsofEurope Thank you for the response and invitation for coffee. Yes, we are moving to Lviv to help with the new school there. I am arriving in Lviv next week, and Cindy will arrive in a few months...maybe sooner. Thank you for excellent videos! We are learning so much. What a beautiful country!! And yes, we would like to meet volunteers in western Ukraine, since we will be in Lviv for a year or so. Estonia is a beautiful country Wow! So nice. Maybe we will take a trip up that way one day. Slava Ukraine! I'm on FB too.

I keep away from FB as its all consuming 😁, but I'm on Whatsapp. You can use the channel email to get in touch, sustaineukraine@proton.me and then I'm happy to provide my mobile. Estonia was outstanding, still a country that to me was a little mystical, with their folklore and forest heritage and neo-paganism. Crisp clean air and sparsely populated; the coastline along the Gulf of Riga from Latvia into Estonia was just awesome. Beautiful sea faring communities, with little cottages perched on the edge of the sea or back into the forest....stunning. Do it by car though as a must. Look forward to being in touch.

Nice clean train with nice foodwagon as well 👌 Yes, it's great, people are heading back. Just hope, that they can live peacefully, when they're back home. I've heard, Belarus are having drills now, near the border. Let's hope, it's just noise and not real preps. Maybe you'll stay in Poland, for some days?

I met a Polish reservist who just came back from the Belarusian border, seems just a lot of hot air, but Putin is a mad man and Lukashenko just a puppet, so who knows. No need to stay longer in Poland I am back home now, got in last night. Been through Poland so many times in last couple of years, so nothing more to see.

Thanks for the video. Do you need to pay in cash to buy snacks or drinks inside of the train or credit card is fine? Any WIFI available in the train? THANKS!
@BitsofEurope

Hi...yes to both on this train, but it can vary. There was WiFi but i didn't use it because my phone was on SEE roaming between EU countries so no need to. The snack car did take card but it took a while to get running, I would always take a little cash just in case.

Could you tell me what documents besides a passport/visa are needed to enter Ukraine?
@BitsofEurope
@BitsofEurope 2 жыл бұрын
Go to visitukraine.today/ and scroll down a little and enter which country you are coming from, it will tell you all you need but at the moment, its really two main things. You need a digital COVID certificate or 72 hour PCR test and you need Health Insurance including for COVID. The health insurance takes 5mins to buy online and you can do that at the same link, just scroll down a bit further, pick a company, pay and you get your certificate immediately. For a week its about 8 Euro for a month about 30 Euro. That's all you need and just be prepared to have a genuine reason for visiting when the border guards in Ukraine ask you why you are going. If you have contacts in Ukraine who can vouch for you have their name and number handy on your phone, so they can be contacted on the spot if need be. If you need a hand with a good fixer or contact over there reach out to me at bitsofeuropevoice@gmail.com and we can chat further. That's just my channel email so I don't care who sees it or uses it.

@@BitsofEurope proof of recovery from COVID should be enough too right ? And I have family members in Ukraine so should be a good reason to enter Ukraine ?

You might want to learn the proper pronunciation of Przemysl, which is (SHEM-ee-shull).

Like I said in the video and most videos when I am unsure, apologies. I did ask a guy in the hotel and another subscriber here mentioned, but now I know thanks to you. In Romanian we have the t pronounced ts but this was unique for me, not hard to pronounced once I know it but just no idea given its not phonetic at all. Ty for comment.
