No one will negotiate Ukrainian land and people over the head of the Ukrainians.Also the brigades that Ukraine wants to equip for war cannot be armed sufficiently to remain efficient due to limited and drip feed support from the start of the war.Ukraine has all the manpower it needs,the problem is equipping and supplying them. Ledwidge has correctly said the negotiations will be between the US and Russia. Ukraine will not be a party to it. Trump negotiated with Taliban in Doha for a US withdrawal. The Afghan govt. that the US had installed was not invited; nor other NATO countries fighting in Afghanistan on US orders ! It will be the same with Ukraine. You claim 'Ukraine has all the manpower it needs...'. The Ukrainian forces themselves admit the recruitment crunch and the problem of desertion. Come out of wishful thinking and accept reality - the west has lost the war. It should have negotiated when Putin asked on Dec. 2021, and averted the war. But it didn't out of false pride, and now that the west has lost, it has to negotiate under Russia's terms. Get it ?

Sorry Frank, your statement beginning 5:15 that isn't what SecDef Lloyd Austin said. He very clearly enunciated two goals: 1) Contain the conflict in Ukraine, and 2) impose a cost on Russia. Containment and deterrence. USA Biden administration and NATO would provide military assistance until such time as Ukrainians could end it either by victory (unlikely) or negotiation. It bought NATO, your UK, time to rearm into an effective conventional deterrent while raising Putin's nuclear use threshold. And what has the UK and the blithering dithering NATO done with that precious time?

It is in Nato's interest to have peace in stability in Europe and part of that is having a buffer between us and Russia. Let Ukraine and Belarus be that buffer.

Yeah, unconditional surrender is the only practical solution for Ukraine at this point. Hitler's Germany also refused to admit defeat until Hitler killed himself, then Keitel signed unconditional surrender. Post war settlement is Russia's business.

Imagine you are beaten by English nationalist in Scotland if you utter scottish/galeic words or put/pin/hold scottish flag. That is what happened with Hungarians living in west ukraine (who were cut from their mother country in 1920 by Treaty of Trianon). I live 50 miles form Ukraine border and we know. there is even a law, you can check, which forbids in school to use your own language in school. If you use/pin/waive Hungarian flag there you are beaten until you bleed. Same applies for Russians there. But you in the west media bubble do not hear these. The Minsk agreement was to assure these rights but Ukraine ignored it with the support of the west. . Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and is far from being a democracy Russia cannot be beaten only talks give peace but USA does not want it. Even if Ukraine wins back all territories, what is guarantee Russia will not go back some months later? Nothing. So far 300+ billion USD was spent by the west for this war, third of it was stolen by corruption, and 2/3 went back to US weapon manufacturers. Ukraine is in ruins, the economy is bankrupted, the people fled, those who stayed are in life lasting war shock. There is no winner in this. The solution is to respect the concern of Russia and for Ukraine to respect minority rights. The beneficiaries of the war are USA and China. USA gas 4x more expensive than Russian, makes EU/Germany uncompetitive, end of EU economy. EU/UK will crush due to incompetent leaders who think a long term stable peace and prosperity in Europe is possible without or by "beating" Russia (whatever it means) and a strong European/German economy based on cheap Russian gas scares the hell out of the USA. Prospect of Ukraine joining NATO, NATO expansion and the oppression of minorities in ukraine led to this. This is the west paying the cost of freedom. the west decided to pay the »cost of freedom«, so pin the ukrainian flag onto your shirt and enjoy the western style of living while it lasts.

Putin may claim that he would start a nuclear war if NATO enters Ukraine, but in reality his "refusal to allow NATO" is just his initial bargaining position.

Hey man I understand where your coming from but your wrong , have you ever been to Finland? You can’t launch a conventional ground invasion from that country into Russia , not enough space , not enough roads , etc etc , same thing with the Baltic states n such . Russia could counter any convention ground invasion with peer to peer force . Now Ukraine is a different story , nato or any enemy of Russia could launch a broad front massive offensive right into Russia dude to ukraine road and rail network . Don’t take my word for it tho please do you own research and you will see , you can look at who has invaded Russia in there country’s history and more Importantly where that invasion came from and what routes the logistics took .
