Nope. I loved the song. That's why I voted for them. Ukraine got my vote because of the fact that the song is a banger and I added the song and only that song to my playlist because I liked the song xP It's a great song and it deserved to be top 5 for sure. For me, it was the best song. Ukraine > Finland > Sweden > UK > Norway > Germany were my favorites in that order. So NO. Ukraine is NOT winning for the wrong reasons for me. Song's a banger, completely disconnected from the political situation.

You have to convince yourself of that, deep down you know you voted for them afraid of being judged as a bad person if you didn't vote for them

Ukraine's song last year was 10x better and they didn't win. The rapping was garbage, let's just be real here. very cringe. It's a joke, we all knew that eurovision was politicaly motivated but this just proves it.

Is it the wrong reason? What is the purpose of the ESC? If not to bring the peoples of Europe together in friendly competition and a celebration of music. In a year when one of the participating countries is suffering a heinous assault that threatens its very existence, the people of Europe took this opportunity to express their support of Ukraine, and adopt their entry as a kind of anthem of unity. It wasn't a particular bloc that supported Ukraine, no-one was trying to prevent another country winning, and it wasn't neoptism among the usual suspects. It was partisan only to the extent that people across Europe wanted to show they are on the side of Ukraine. Granted, that may be about something other than the music, but for very good reason. I think we're all clear what their victory was about; and at this moment in history, who would have wanted to see Ukraine finish 8th or 12th. Ukranians are involved in a life or death struggle, so I think a mere song contest can suspend its usual rules of competition just this once in service of something important. The people have spoken. Slava Ukraina! Love from the U.K. 🇬🇧
