If you read up the history of Russia, starting from 1300, you will see that Russia has always used deceit, treaties signed then violated, deportation, mass killings and genocide to turn a small village in a swamp (Moscow, then, thanks to underhand dealings with the prince of Vladimir, Grand Duchy and then principality. The same methods have been used by all the leaders of Russia, from the Princes of Moscovy to the Tzars and then the Soviet. Putin, who was well trained (mentally as well as 'technically') by the KGB has not only continued the tradition but is also obsessed with the return to the glory of the Empire. If you watch the interview with the Premier of Estonia you will hear what 'peace' under Soviet Russia was like. Fear of rebellion by the defeated populations was eased by deporting thousands of local families to strong Russian areas and hundreds of ethnic Russians to those under populated areas. In Vladivostok - on the Sea of Japan - 95% of the population is ethnically Russian, 2% is Asian and the rest are either Rumanian or Bulgarian.

Right, most of what russia presents to the world is an illusion, and they have to lie about everything in order to present themselves as being more powerful than they really are. Right now, NATO is thinking that most of their nukes probably don’t work anymore… we know how to shoot down their so-called “hypersonic” missiles and the sarmat isn’t even real yet (and given russia’s track record on these things, nobody has to fear it either). Putin could have been an amazing leader for the russian people. He could have done so much to make their lives better… so much of Siberia could have been developed, so many good jobs could have been provided to the indigenous peoples of the various regions… but he chose the path of greed and selfishness. He will be remembered as the monster he has probably always been. But yeah, russia is really weak - I knew they weren’t as tough as they claimed they were, but damn - they really turned out to be embarrassingly pathetic. Nobody respect or fears russia any more. Once Ukraine gets their long-range missile program up and going to 100%, they will be able to take out russia’s facilities that produce the missiles that are being used to kill Ukrainian civilians. Ukraine isn’t going to lose this war. They’re too clever and motivated.
