Thanks a bunch for the lesson! I just arrived in Kyiv and had hard time looking for a decent Ukrainian lesson online (apart from vocabularies), and i dont really wanna learn Russian since its a pity not to use the chance i have here to learn (and practice) Ukrayinskoyu. I could speak Serbian, so hopefully I wont have so much problem in getting a grip of Ukrainian grammar. Will put comment on things which i would find unclear later. D'akuyu!

Well done Olga, this is a very informative video. It is interesting to know that articles and verbs that express a state of being are not used in the construction of a sentence in the Ukrainian language. Native English speakers can easily identify Eastern European people who attempt to speak the English language because they usually forget to insert the relevant articles of ‘a’ and ‘the’ or forget to insert the relevant verbs that express a state of being such as ‘is’, ‘are’, ‘were’ and ‘was’ from their sentences. The omission of the articles and the verbs that express a state of being from a sentence spoken in the English language will make the sentence sound fragmented and very basic, as if spoken by a young child. What basic mistakes do native English speakers make when they try to speak the language of Ukraine, and also other Eastern European/ Slavic languages?

+Jim Slip The most popular I think it's ending, because it changed according to gender, and probably it's really hard to remember and use this correct. Very often they forget to use ending in general, because in Enlgish verb doesn't changed in I, you, We, they and others... But I can't say it's impossible) I know a lot of americans who live in Ukraine for 6-9 month, and they are very good in using ending and speak Ukrainian with not a big accent))) So everything is possible for English-speaker in Ukraine)
@jimslip5480

+Olga Reznikova Okay, I’ll attempt to commit to memory the ending of nouns according to their gender. I imagine the only way I will lose my foreign accent would be to have daily conversations with native speakers of the Ukrainian language. Thanks for the advice and encouragement! :)

Dear everyone: If you are Ubuntu/Mint/Cinnamon user you will need to write in Ukrainian, in order to configure your PC to do this, go to: Preferences>Keyboard>Layouts Then click "+" and select Ukrainian or Ukrainian phonetic or Ancient Ukrainian, it's your choice. After this the shortcut is with mouse, if you have English as your language, make click in "en" (next to the wifi symbol) and it will display "Ukrainian" and next to a nice Ukraine flag, click the flag if you want to write in Ukrainian and viceversa. You can watch the keyboard configuration with this too. фисвуапршолдьтщзйкіегмцчня ФИСВУАПРШОЛДЬТЩЗЙКІЕГМЦЧНЯ Good luck¡
