On account of Russian APCs and IFVs, or lack of them. We still have lots of them, but we put them in the rear as reserve. Turns out, they're not as good for modern warfare. They were meant to be low profile, but they're too small inside and hard to get out. They were meant to be light and able to swim, which made them light armored. Hence the experiments. Tank and MTLB engines are better suited to carry all that extra weight.

It's easy to forget how a war like this could cost your country an entire generation of your people. No matter the outcome both countries are damaged beyond repair for the next 20 years.

4:50 mobilized, as in, forced in service. Press ganged. Literally daily videos of this happening. I think everyone should be clear on what that means
@adamhall5298

Not everyone who is mobilised is dragged from a café or the street. That being said, countries at war resort to forceful measures to get people in the army if they must. The UK did, the US did, and actually Russie does it as well, obviously not to the same extent as Ukraine given the bonuses offered to volunteers, the North Korean manpower aid, and of course the ample prison manpower resource.

Based on multiple pro ukrainian articles Ukraine has been mobilizing soldiers at about 15-30k a month.Taking the average of that 22.5k as a stable we can assume Ukraine has mobilized around 700k soldiers. (low end 465 high end 900k+) They started with 200k active and 500k territorial defense thats 700k. Zelensky claims his army has 800k soldiers (including reserve and rear) this would indicate 600k losses that were irrecoverable. It is very difficult because they're not releasing official numbers on how many have been mobilized otherwise my analysis would be easily done and not a vague estimate. Meanwhile Russia with initial army size of 200k and with 300k partially mobilized and 400k recruits in 2023 and 200k in the first half of 2024 would have 1.1 million but according to latest reports they have approximately 700k in Ukraine at that time (latest statement by putin) This would indicate 400k total casualties as it would include KIA, wounded or POW. This is what I could gather from public information any more details and any questions to it I can't answer this is simply what is out there from their own sources. But regardless it seems that regardless the number of Russian losses that are claimed by the Ukrainian ministry of truth or the Western general couch experts inflate Russian losses while projecting the Ukrainian causulties as Russian.

I can't find ANY SOURCES AT ALL that states they had 200k active and 500k territorial defense pre war. So either send some links provide the names of the articles or you're just doing napkin math at best.

you very conveniently forget about russian troops that no one counts losses or care about - wagner and other PMC, DNR/LNR so called militia, etc. Also lets talk about pro russian articles that say they have 30k recruits every month so if that true - where all this people gone ?

Ukraine doesn’t have as much of manpower problem as a equipment problem. They have plenty of soldiers and could easily draft even 2 million more people which even military bloggers admit. It’s the equipment that is needed. Zelenskyy said they created 10 new brigades but just could equip 2.5 somewhat sufficient.
@Bowfishin
@Bowfishin 9 минут бұрын
Lol. They mostly have a manpower issue. Having 2M in the general population dosnt mean much when it takes a year to properly train them and get them ready for the front. They didnt need any new brigade, they neede to backfill losses in established ones. Even with proper equipment, sending inexperianced soldiers to the front has not been helpful.

My speculation on the North Korean troops is they now have a few thousand soldiers that can train/ prepare and equip the next wave of NK troops.

Preston- former USAF Ssgt/ Jet Mech here, with a thought for you to ponder. I'm 52 and stay in good physical shape- I watch what I eat and exercise regularly. I work around 20 somethings all day long as a Floor Supervisor at a local Building Supply company here in Massachusetts. Sometimes, I feel like I'm living the cartoon movie WALL-E in that most of the younger generation seems to be completely out of shape, and, more importantly, unmotivated. While that 45% Stat about younger folks picking up arms to defend our Country might be accurate, what is the percentage of that 45% that could actually pass the physical, just to join the Branch of their choice? Yes, I realize not every younger person is a fat, unmotivated turd, but wow do I see that exact thing on an alarmingly regular basis. I should also mention that my Family's Military service history is fairly lengthy, going back generations. However, my son, who's 31, wanted absolutely nothing to do with Military Service and instead decided to get married, start a family and work as an Automotive mechanic, who welds on the side. He just never saw the Military as an option in his Life. So, there's that perspective as well- somehow, Military Service just has zero "luster" for the younger generation.

@@colinsdad1 I understand what you are saying. That being said, I turned 18 in 1972 and graduated HS. A head injury resulted in my draft status as being 4H. I can assure you, none of the teenagers of the 60’s and 70’s saw Military Service as a career. The Draft took many of the best and sent them to Vietnam. I would not wish War on anyone. Sincerly

From Central and Eastern Europe: The Distance between People in PL and the US is... well we are nicknamed "Little European Texas" yeah? There are reasons for that and it's not only the Mil budget we spend in the USA. Heck we spend a lot elsewhere... Here's the thing we get here: The distance between Bakhmut (2023) and Chasiv Yar (2025) is 10km. That's da ru gains... My best guess today is that there are some 40millions Ukrainians up and ready to also have a "nickname".

The amount of Ukrainian farmland that has been bought by Western investors is staggering, together with US Senators talking of billions of natural resources to "enrich ourselves" and "benefit Ukraine", while X-mas holiday gets moved to Western calendar after 1000 years, this is not surprising that this sort of narratives are popping out
