Добраніч is a word I know very well from my own experience. I was once stopped by an Ukrainian border guard in 2013 when I passed the border from Poland. It was in late night after 00.00 He said Добраніч so I drove forward knowing the Polish word "dobranoc" which is very similar to Ukrainian. He then started scream stop! Maybe he was greeting me using Добраніч 😃

Hahah he was definitely saying Good night! Thank you for sharing, it's interesting how real life situations help us learn new words much easier!

Thank you very much!! One question that also has to do with being polite. It's more of a filler actually, anyway... It's the filler "see" (taken from the verb to see in english), like in the phrase: "I don't know it because, SEE, it's very difficult to estimate" or "SEE, I don't know how to get it done". Anyway, thank you very much for this video!!
@LetsLearnUkrainian3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes, fillers are important. I will try and make a video or a post about the ones we have in Ukrainian :)

Learning Ukrainian is very good. Two years ago my goal is to go to Bila Tcerkva. Russian seems more abrasive. Whereas Ukrainian is smooth and more romantic.🇺🇦💯

Can anyone tell me the difference between saying Dobriy Ranock and Dobro horanko?? Thank you.
@LetsLearnUkrainian Жыл бұрын
Добрий ранок - nominative case, доброго ранку - genitive. So, using nominative is like saying Good morning, but using genitive sort of implies "I wish you a good morning". Some people say using nominative is the only correct way, others say both can be used interchangeably!

"Witam" w języku ukraińskim będzie jako "laskàwo pròsymo"(kiedy ktoś przyjmuje gości). Mamy słowo podobnie do "witam" - "witaju", ale ma inne znaczenie. Google tłumacz wydaje dwa warianty: "Pozdrowienia" i "Gratulacje". Przepraszam za mój polski, tylko się uczę.
