Thankyou for these lessons. Makes learning a little easier than what I’ve been learning, it’s not easy trying to manipulate ones fingers but the man in the guitar store said “You will get it”. So from Australia I say many thanks again. 💐

Diolch yn fawr iawn Rachel! 🤗 I’m an absolute beginner and having your tutorials have made the learning process a really pleasant experience for me because they feel like one-to-one classes. The uke I bought was based on a recommendation you made in another video (I’m very happy with my Kmise concert). Please keep making these vids for us uke newbies. Hope your channel goes from strength to strength. Cofion gorau / Best wishes from Aberystwyth. Xx

I am really enjoying your lessons, and having the play alongs really helps, thanks. I have a question. You say you should have your thumb in the middle of the back of the neck. I am finding it easier to have my thumb at the top of the back of the neck. I have an Enya uke and the neck looks to be a little flatter than the uke in your video. Is this a bad habit that I need to break? One that will cause me problems later? Or is it just a style issue?
@UkuleleWales2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, I suggest keeping thumb flexible in the middle of the back of the neck as this gives fingers the greatest flexibilty BUT many chord shapes require different hand positions and I also think that if something works better for one player but something different works too, that is absolutely fine. If you are comfortable and it works that is what matters.

Hi Marc, very glad to hear you enjoyed the lesson. Yes - your fingers will get used to playing, the skin will get harder and they WILL stop being painful, I promise.

I am a new ukulele student. I am thoroughly enjoying the video/lessons. I really like the approach you take to teach the very basics of ukulele. Thanks for that. Can you please let us know the drum app you are using in the video? Thanks.
@UkuleleWales4 жыл бұрын
So glad to be helping. It was a metronome app I think but there are loads of drum machine apps too. I've also done some drum backing tracks which may help.

How long can a beginner play a day? I play 30 min. Is this enough? What is your advice. If I may ask you.
@UkuleleWales4 жыл бұрын
Hi, as long as I can without hurting your fingers, but really only as much time as you have available. Little and often is what I tell the students in school, a little every day is better than one or two longer sessions a week. Please ask away if you have more questions.

I love your videos, but the ads every 30 seconds are extremely annoying. Algorithms gone mad!

I know they can be a pain, especially because some of my videos are very long. I just do the auctomatic one so don't choose to have lots. Apologies.
