Holy mackerel Stu that little Travis pickin' solo is just too darn good; I'm not sure I could stand much more! As a young boy I remember how my mother would play this Cash record over and over... Once again you have delivered the musical equivalent of comfort food.

Thanks for being here Paul! And... my pleasure...go pick that solo! (The jam track has some double tracking ;-). Play on!

BROOO I LOVE the way you teach! You make it so light hearted and fun! I was jammin along not even playing ha! But the teaching style you do makes it really easy to transition into things! For example the way you teach the two different strumming patterns was seamless! It doesn't feel like a long boring 5 bmp tutorial like how a lot are! Props to all of your hardwork broski with the mosti ha! (Love the time stamps too!)

I got my love for Johnny Cash from my dad, much to the chagrin of my of my older sisters. Beach Boys, Beatles, Manhattan Transfer - three sisters, three different 45’s playing, sometimes all at once. Not surprisingly, Cash became famous once again following a Rolling Stone review and several excellent albums. Other tunes? Hurt (Trent Reznor) God’s Gonna Cut You Down, and since I’m married, Ring of Fire 🤣 Great job on this lesson - you may have convinced me to be a patreon. I hope you and your family are doing well. Whomever gave this lesson a thumbs down just needs to switch to decaf! Thanks

My adult self’s favorite Cash song is Ring of Fire. But when I was about 5 it was Boy Named Sue. Probably something to do with my mom and dad’s divorce. I always loved those songs about estranged fathers and sons. Cat’s in the Cradle was another song I got wild about.

Hey, really enjoyed this, thanks. Quick newbie question. The tenor uke can be a low or high G. Is that one uke and you change the G string, or is it 2 separate ukes?
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and playing along 😊 The answer mis both. You can swap out the G string for high or low… And you can have 2 ukes - one it each tuning. Works for any size - sopranos can be a bit small for the low G but it works. Click subscribe for more helpful videos like this one 🤙🎶😊

Awesome! Thank you for watching & learning along! More vids at my channel page...singing & playing: simply the strum & align your voice to the over all pulse...then try to add a more complex strum. Thanks Stu, not much of fan Mr. Cash but big fan of aquiring new ukulele skills. Do you recommend sticking with and learning a tune beore moving on or is it wise to play at a song until sick of it then move on and come back to it occasionally?
@UkuleleZen4 жыл бұрын
Ron, I would say to play songs & styles that really light you up. It's good to stick with a song long enough to play it well, but not to get tired of it. What helps is to play songs you like so you want to keep coming back! There's a variety of tunes & lessons at my channel page "Ukulele Zen" on KZbin. Join us for another video - click subscribe & click the bell to keep in the loop.
