I searched everywhere for the correct position of the batteries because there is no indication on the ukulele and I did not want to damage it. I found the solution with your video. Thank you very much!!!

I was trying to figure out how to open my darn battery compartment for the longest time and I just didn’t know how, but after seeing your vid I realised I had to “pull it open” rather then try to flip it open like a little door 😅😅.. thank you so so much.. finally got it open 😤 now I can change the batteries

Great job. Thanks. Would like to say that when trying to open the compartment pull the tab towards the plug hole. It can be very hard the first time. Might have to use a knife to help wedge it out but be careful so as to not mar the finish.

Hi Luke sorry about the delay in replying. I think it would probably depend on make and model of uke. Depending where you are living, might be worth contacting a specialist ukulele shop or the maker of the ukulele.

Thank you, now I noticed that there are 2 batteries to be inserted which I didn't know. The tuner is working fine now, but the amp functionality still doesn't work, even though my amp is working fine, otherwise.

Hi, the batteries power the tuner, pickup and EQ fr the ukulele but not for an amp. Most amps have a separate power cable, hope that helps.

I have a diamondhead tenor cutaway ukulele and the thing that holds the batteries has disappeared. do you know where I might be able to find another one? I can't find the diamondhead website. It seems like they only have a presence on amazon

I've just acquired a UBase made by Aklot, or so it claims. A group was looking for a bass guitarist, and I really didn't want to commit a load of money. All your videos have been incredibly useful, but having no sight, I got stuck with the battery change one. I could get someone to do it for me, but it's never been my way. On the side of the bass, there appears to be something which looks like it might give access to the described compartment. Can you confirm? diolch

Hi David, very glad you have got an Aklot bass. The battery compartment should be on the side towards the bottom of the bass. If you hold the bass normally, it will be underneath so left hand side, towards the bottom. I think it is a 9 volt battery in the Aklots. Please just ask if you have anymore questions.

The battery adds a little power to the pic-up and also allows the tuner and built in EQ to work. Hope that explains.
