Koishi is actually, in all honesty, one of the most innocent characters in the series. She has done weird things to herself regarding her third eye but otherwise she really has no grudges or volatile thoughts. Or any thoughts at all, actually. She just does whatever and spends time with her sister. She battled you because you invaded her home and she thought you were after her, too. Unlike any of the other characters who challenge you over some ideal or out of a bloodlust, she just does it because...well, you broke into her home and attacked everyone that was there. She doesn't have any world-ending plot and she's not out specifically for you. If you just left then she probably would've never encountered you or done anything, regardless of what she says during the encounter.

One day I decided to write the koishi's name on a numeric keypad. That was the result: 55666444777744444 (55 = K) (666 = O) (444 = I) (7777 = S) (44 = H) (444 = I) (read, because i have more theorys.) parts of the name "Koishi" are Ko and Shi Ko (子) = Child Shi (死) = Dead Maybe ... Koishi's name means "dead child"? (She is a dead child?) but! Koishi in Japanese has meaning Koishi (小石) = Pebble Pebble = Rock fragment Maybe ... Koishi's name means "broken rock"? (but she is a youkai...) (My theories suck.)

I think her name could reference part of her ability of the unconscious, it's like she's one of those pebbles you find on the side of the road, it's there, but you don't really pay that much attention to it then forget about it after a while, kinda like how Koishi is there but you can't really see her, and if you do, you're most likely gonna forget about her after a while.
