Hi Nicole, I love personal finances and would love to share some tips. 1) Use a zero-based budget where you start with your net pay (monthly, weekly, etc.) and then list each expense until you have a zero balance. This method allows you to plan where each dollar goes. 2) Have a line item for "savings" and if you can automate savings that is great (out of sight, out of mind). 3) Include a line for "miscellaneous". No matter how hard we plan, an unexpected expense occurs.4) If possible, set a goal to pay your credit card off each month. This will help your credit score when buying your house. 5) For areas where it's easy to overspend, you can use the envelope system. You can get an envelope let's say for eating out and put $100 cash in it. Once you spend the dollars in the envelope you don't spend anymore. I have been debt free for years and enjoying my retirement from financial stress. I purchased my home when I was single and paid it off 8 years earlier by using these money management tips. Hi Nia. My grandmother taught us to always bring the New Year in with a clean slate. All decorations removed and house completely clean. At midnight and New Year’s Day we eat black eyed peas, collard greens, rice and cornbread. With this meal, we only drink water. This tradition was passed from generations back and we continue to do it with babies.

As a tribute to my baby brother who passed in Dec. 2020 (he was the sweetest man I have EVER known), I keep my decorations until Feb. 1st...his birthday.

I like to keep the Christmas decorations up until January 1st. The reason is to bring in the new year with the lights decor. The lights stay on all night Christmas and Year eves. Generally, New Years' Day always see so gloomy to me. So, I take the decorations down on the January 1st. or 2nd. Before I retired, I always took them down before the first weekend, I didn't want to deal with it on the first weekend, of the year, so that I could reset and relax. lol lol lol

Hello! Love budgeting type of things. I personally use a wall calendar. I write all the bill due dates, then make a note 15 & 3 days before. I pay twice a month. Then I wrote all my subscriptions on a sticky note. I do a sinking fund for them. I divide the total by the paychecks then put that in a HYS account. Then pull from it when the subscription is due. I also write down every charge for the month. Very Eye Opening how much money was spent on food, clothes & beauty! I put everything I can on autopay because helps to make sure nothing is missed then I earn points on my credit cards.

Hi Nia, I'm glad you had a good Christmas! I try to put my tree up early, but it does happen always. I do keep it up til after my Birthday, which it was yesterday, Dec, 30th. I'm 74, then 1 more day for New Year's. So, it stays up 2-5 days after the new year. Then I clean & put everything away! Riley's cubicle looks good there under the bed! She's getting so big! Before you know it, she's going to be a teenager! LOL! 😅 You both have a Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing! ❤️☺️🫂🌟🐾🍾🎉
