Good comment, except the bacteria that causes Legionnaire's disease multiplies in water that is not kept a certain high temperature or cold enough. It is commonly found in municipal water, too, so likely in his system. In other words, by allowing hot water to feed back into the fresh water tank, he is warming it enough to encourage the bacteria to multiply, most likely. The Center for Disease Control has info on safe water temperatures and preventing Legionnaire's disease.
@carlacowling1789
@carlacowling1789 5 жыл бұрын
I'll look again but I think he said he had a one micron filter and UV. "For most, one micron is enough. It is estimated that this size of filter will remove 99.9% of all bacteria from water. If your water supply has already been treated with chlorine then a lot of these bacteria will no longer be present in the water anyway, and the filtration is more effective for heavy metals and other materials."
@wownewstome6123
@wownewstome6123 5 жыл бұрын
@Southern Note, thanks, good point on the filter and UV light - as long as it's for the shower and dishwashing water, too, because people have inhaled the bacteria during those activities.
@corbonzo1
@corbonzo1 5 жыл бұрын
@@wownewstome6123 I think you may be over thinking that specific issue. He mentioned he has a 75 gallon water tank, a little bit of warm water (not even a gallons worth) put into such a large tank isn't going to impact the temp enough to cause problems
@wownewstome6123
@wownewstome6123 4 жыл бұрын
@Q. E. D., in the end, he may be doing just fine. My concerns: it's a monkey see, monkey do world, but people may miss his extra steps, such as the UV light. Also, when filters remove the disinfectants, such as chlorine, then bacteria can multiply unhindered. Plus, I just mentioned **one of the many** biological contaminants that can cause health issues.

The pure creativity and ingenuity utilized in the build is just amazing not to mention the superb craftsmanship. So well thought out. I am planning/implementing a conversion and this video forced me to ball up the project plans to rethink aspects of the plan I have not started and/or redoing aspects of the plans that have been implemented. So, I kinda love/hate this video at the same time...lol. It is definitely making me step my game up...lol Seriously, excellent excellent work on the ambulance build and thank you for helping me see my short sightedness...lol...wish you happy and safe travels...

Look at that price for an idea of what kind of money he spent... And that truck definitely cost more than $16k but that's not important because you can get nice ambos much cheaper. Impressive conversion. A lot of comments about dead or suffering people in ambulances. Not only was it that this one was only used at Yellowstone for ten years, more likely saving lives, treating exposure, dehydration and bee stings, but also, what does it matter. Don't people realize that many subways, bridges, dams and hotels, etc. have had deaths occur in their construction ? How many homes do they think there are in which the owner had died in it.

I've seen several conversions and the box style ambulance is, in my opinion the way to go (mountain rescue units are the best, being most complete). Your conversion was very well thought out, with re-purposing materials and especially locating the electrical and water management systems into specific cabinets and filling in wasted space (packs). One of the first ambulance conversions I've seen had one major modification I'd do, raise the roof 15 to 18 inches for head space (over bed). ;-) Happy and safe travels to you.

I am so impressed. This setup he has done to the Yellowstone park ambulance is exactly the same as a nuclear submarine. It’s only limitation is the amount of food it caries. Actually, if you were to harvest food from the wilderness even that wouldn’t present an issue. If we ever get over run by some enemy or some catastrophic thing happens to our country, I want to be with this guy. He can literally disappear for a very long time. One thing I just thought of is that he is also limited by how much fuel he carries unless he just finds a place he loves and parks it there until its safe to go get or steal fuel some place. Outstanding!!!! I would love to find out what this all cost him. I bet its a lot less than most people think.

If only recirculating systems in showers were standard. So much water would be saved.

There are two kinds of people in the world, people who pee in the shower and liars. Neither would like recirculating water.

i would even go so far as to recirculate the shower water itself.and use the same shower water to shower every day. empty it and clean it out like once a month. there is no reason to dump that grey water. have it circulate through a nice filter or just a filter made of sand and you are a ok. you dont even have to do all that. germ phobes could even just add some bleach or chlorine tabs into the grey water tank . it just soap water, not drinking water.

YourMajesty143 lol, wtf you think ‘recirculates’ means? It’s means you’re ‘recirculating’ the used water over and over, not fresh water. Sure you probably add a little more fresh to top up and filter the old water, but if you pee you’re gonna get filtered pee water back on you.
