Def looking forward for the turbo kit that comes with everything all in one and you need to make it pick and chose friendly where say if you already have a aftermarket intake you can click a box beside the part to add or take away from total price so you don’t have to order things you don’t need twice.
@COMotorsports14 сағат бұрын
@@aaron0315 there will be options yes, but this kit is built for specific parts. You choose to use a different part, that means the kit doesn't fit and you need to deal with it. In the end the goal is to offer a complete kit with EVERYTHING needed to bolt on to the car and go. For example there is no aftermarket intake for the 2.5 that will fit this kit.
@aaron031511 сағат бұрын
@ just wondering then are you guys thinking of having the kit work with just the stock intake then or are you just gonna go with the spa options just wondering your guys thoughts on how your gonna this kit. Curious to see what you all come up with cause I know whatever it is will be nice.

Only a few minutes in and I have to comment! Would have been great to see a real tear down of a junker motor. Especially the parts you struggle with... like how you remove those manifold nuts and bolts and how you remove O2 sensors that like to "live in there permanently" in real . Details of and seeing the patience, techniques and tools required to do this would have been enlightening. As opposed to those infuriating "simply remove the control arm pinch bolt" and voila videos. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
@COMotorsports15 сағат бұрын
@@jettamaster3297 thanks however the issue with that simply comes down to time. It took a full day and half to film this, then cut it all down to what's still a very long video. Making a 2hr video is extremely unlikely to get seen by most. And unfortunately if people aren't watching it there's no point into doing it.
@jameshaulenbeek59312 сағат бұрын
Use a high quality tool that has the least amount of play in/on the fastener, use penetrant, and sometimes on a stud, use a wire brush to try to remove crust. As far as O2 sensors go - get one of the special sockets for it if you're reusing it, otherwise, cut the pigtail and use a standard impact.

Any tips on selecting an engine in the junkyard? Looks like pulling the valve cover is a good start. 👍
@COMotorsports17 сағат бұрын
Buy from salvage, they generally have some sort of warranty. This one I bought random, heard it run when I considered buying the entire car but I didn't. Then a month or more after I bought just the engine from that vehicle. So it likely sat outside out of the car before I ended up getting my hands on it. Really shouldn't have mattered to much but clearly water got in there.

Germans design a fastener that will rust and need a hammer to seat the socket to it or it's not coming out is dumb! But also at least they make the engines kinda easy to remove!

@jb5nf15 сағат бұрын
@COMotorsports Sounds great. Thinking of a smaller turbo setup for daily driving. But hopefully you can do one kit with different tuning parameters, using the same turbo. Wasn't this engine "improved" by Audi and turbocharged for the RS3?

If you bought a cheap house and wanted an in ground pool installed, do you think it should cost less then the same pool installed at a more expensive house? Just because the engine is cheap doesn't mean everything else automatically is cheap also. 😀 Just appreciate that the engine is cheap and run with it.
