Ultimate 9 EVC Throttle Controller Install and Review! First Impressions

This is probably one of the coolest mods I have done. Makes any car a lot more exiting and fun to drive. Weather it is the C8 Corvette or the Ram TRX, this will add a little more kick to your cars step. Crazy Fun on the RAM TRX! Ordered for the C8 CORVETTE! I have been skeptic of these throttle controllers such as Pedal Commander or Banks Throttle Booster but EVC makes one for a great price and it gets the job done so well worth the try.

I have 2022 TRX, the EVC Throttle Commander makes the truck a true monster. It’s night and day at Ultimate 9.

It is a nice affordable upgrade. My 370z had laggy throttle stock but this livens it up a lot. The auto mode does seem a bit too peppy and makes the car real keen to spin the wheels under light throttle. But finding a comfortable setting under U make it really a nice way to fix that slow stock throttle response.

I saw you got the banks one. This does cut off in reverse which is a plus. The 12v vs 5v thing is interesting but good value at 160 bucks.

Anytime man. 8 months in now and its still fun. I dialed it back to the 4 setting and then have just left it on that setting. Best blend of quick throttle without being unmanagable.

@@SteveT-gs9jt It doesn't. This doesn't change any of the performance metrics. Only gain is the amount of time it takes your pedal to push 100% vs say 10%. On U9 at a little throttle it sends the command of 100%.

Hey! I got it from their website directly with a coupon at the time. Boosted on the Ram TRX forums hooked me up with the coupon. Looks like his site carries it now:brawlerfab.com/product/ultimate9-evc/ I am running the SLP resonator swap. Have 2 videos of it. Best exhaust for the money. The Borla is a more refined and the best fully engineered exhaust I think on the market next to GTHauss but can't beat what the SLPs gives you for sound gains for under $200 bucks

Thanks for uploading your comments and assessment on this product. Question? Does the TRX have a "Sport" setting straight out of the factory which improves throttle response? If so, is there any difference between non-Sport + EVC, Sport without ECV & Sport + ECV? Hope you understand where I'm coming from. My car has a Sport setting which makes a huge difference over standard setting, so I question whether this might really make any difference? Thanks.

The stock sport settings typically don't improve the throttle as much as transmission, timing, and power band. It will hold gears longer. This leads to feeling a little more kick at lower rpms. The evc throttle controller makes a difference regardless of what mode I'm in as it simulates to the car a higher throttle pressure. So think flooring it in normal vs sport.....now imagine that difference with much lighter throttle pressure and the time to dampen the pedal reduced.

After two plus years of the 9 settings.....I've kind of settled in at 4. Makes it a nice kick in its step but not overkill. The novelty of 9 wares off after a few days. 3-4 is a nice daily setting for usability and fun

Is this device safe to use?

No. Used the pedal commander, which has the same wiring and programming as this, and it overdraws power after a few months and can short other systems. It caused my transmission to stop shifting. Pedal monster is something I found would be safer, even though it's more expensive.
