I think either would serve you well, from the looks of it the Elegoo one has more components for less money, their actual Arduino board is very well made and has given me no problems at all. I have links to some kits in the description. Hope this helps

I agree about the potentiometer, they don't fit easily on the breadboard. I had to solder one to a PCB along with some pins, but the buttons fit fine and I'm glad they are not on a PCB because after I finish testing the project on the breadboard, I'm moving everything to a protoboard and solder them for a permanent solution

You mentioned daughter boards. Do you have a source for those? I'd like to protect my main breadboard as well. Searched several times using different terms and can't find anything that will plug into the BB and allow mounting the variable resistors and push buttons too. Appreciate any helpl

Hey so Im legally blind and still shopping around for an electronics or robot kit for learning and building etc. Does this require soldiring at all? Unfortunately can't solder and its either going to probably be this that I wind up getting, the radioshack electronics learning lab, or one of the makeblock kits and its all a bit overwelming from all the veriety out there. Im a grownup too, so looking for something that is fundamental yet powerful and capable for under $200 thanks!

I'm thinking of getting my first arduino and I'm looking for a starter kit. Should I get this one, the elegoo uno r3 or the official arduino starter kit?
@manny35494 жыл бұрын
I have the 2560 kit and I couldn't be more pleased. You want something that there is a tutorial for. I love this guy's channel. I've learned a lot.

The only thing that is better with the official one is the book an u can get that one for free on the internet so definitely get the elegoo.

Do the programs on this work on macbook or do you even have to download something
@TheBreadboardca4 жыл бұрын
The Arduino IDE should work on a MAC no problem, the programs on the CD are compiled there (With the IDE) and then downloaded to the Arduino so you should not need anything beyond the standard MAC install of the Arduino IDE.

Do you have a recommended daughterboard and/headers for mounting the potentiometer to use on a breadboard? Do you have a video?
