If you're in a position where you're buying one of these cars, cost of Gas and Gas Mileage shouldn't be a deal breaker imho. Went with the GX and couldn't be happier. $10K more for a Lexus seems like a no brainer.

Agree fully, LC is compromised by hybrid eating boot space, over complex two system vehicle and a turbo 2.4. As the GX is not available to us in Europe , my choice is an LC commercial, because it is non hybrid with the 2.8l diesel 😢

20k more than a Trd Pro 4runner same issue. Was going to buy that 4 Runner then looked at the GX. GX definitely worth the extra money. Got the OT plus below msrp with less hassle.

Test drove them both. I didn't think it was close. GX550 by a mile. And under the hood I felt the LC was a mess.

Land Cruiser mid trim premium all the way.. when compared to GX overtrail - 30% better gas mileage and barely less power - cheaper to insure and service - 2400 watt inverter is a huge benefit for campers - prefer the physical buttons on the dash and interior overall - 3 zone climate control with ceiling vents in the rear - prefer the styling but both are great looking vehicles Test drive both and went with the Land Cruiser. If you dont care about camping/overlanding and want a mall crawler then the decision becomes more difficult. The GX does feel more refined on the road.

Land Cruiser, It comes with stuff that should be standard on every model Lexus produces(looking at you memory seats). I'm good with paying more money for for, but I can't get my head around paying more money for less. Watching from Iowa.

Mid Trim Land Cruiser premium 2024 for me. Cuz the First edition I don’t like the roof rack and sunroof/moonroof plus almost identical to First edition. Plus, you save 11k for necessary adds on it.

Main contrast here is in that land cruiser is engineered, and GX550 is designed. At this price point, a few thousands makes little difference. If BMW and Audi did not exist better and cheaper, I’d go for the more refined one, and for the off-roading fix keep a far more terrain capable and cheaper vehicle like Jeep JL rubicon.

I like the looks of Land Cruiser better, not a fan of the touch screen for everything on the Lexus, prob like the motor and towing better on Lexus, weird overtrail plus you don’t get electric rear view mirror at least the one I saw, better articulation on the Land Cruiser, prob same range for fuel with tanks sizes diff and mileage better on land cruisers

The Lexus does look more elegant, but I’d take the hybrid powertrain. The difference in power is marginal, while the difference in milage is significant.

You forgot to look at the towing capability Lexus 9,096 pounds while the cruiser is rated at 6,000 pounds the cargo of the cruiser is grearly reduced by the battery pack where as the overtrail plus without the 3rd row has massive trunk space.

I wouldn't buy either, I think Toyota/Lexus dropped the ball on these new trucks IMO. The LC isn't even a real Land Cruiser. No KDSS, no real time 4WD, 4 cylinder hybrid for a car that large, and you're going to be towing? No way you're hitting 500k on the odometer like you could with real land cruisers. If you have money to burn and you just like new stuff, get the GX but only the overtrail+ otherwise its just a Lexus TX.

Reality check...98 prevent will NEVER drive"off-road" AG's those that do drive on dirt roads over man made obstacles they know are coming. In wonder'fun weekend getaway".... Most will drive in city. So the decision is easy... AG's depending which city you're from TGT chances off anyone driving"off-road" drops to NIL
