After watching your video I got on Amazon the burning fire guitar in red,without the Glarry name on headstock. I also got the Donner M10 amp to go with it. Supposed to be here on March 23. Psyched to start playing guitar at 54. I'll probably get the 170 also in black. The kit amps suck why I got one separately.

Got one for my Nephew along with a Nux Mighty lite BT amp. I spent a few hours doing a light fretjob and setup. It’s a decent player and sounds great through the Nux. After a cheap stand cables better gig bag was all in for around $250 Amazing what is out there these days. That little Nux blows my mind. Really nothing else he will need for a long time.

You are probably the only one who could figure this out. How do we get a glassy tone as a foundation and fiz on top simultaneously. Definitely a 2 amp solution. The funkiness has to have a glassy aspect. Here are 2 examples: kingsx dogman and Motley Crue uncle Jack (corabi) so the soul core of the tone shape is a little Hendrix inspired but modern in articulation (The funky chicka henrix clean component). I had a tech (dallas brown ((DIO, Poison, etc etc))) he could do it and I should have paid attention to what the heck he was doing. OR a BHT series with one but they are "tracking selections" with a naming convention. Like you have the blends split out and then name them so us BHT tracking guys can use it for quick demo or?

Have you seen their hard shell cases? For home or in studio storage, they can't be beat. I have two of the LP cases, and literally the only thing I had to do was let them air out for a day or two. I could smell the glue. Other than that, great cases!

With the modern machinery we have today...there's no reason for sub-par or unusable equipment. Not so true back when I started. Under $300 guitar was total junk.

Actually sounds like it's a set of pickups (and a good setup) away from being a really, really nice guitar. Just sounds a bit flat with gain, but the cost of the guitar... the pickups will be more LOL!
@d.j.99617 ай бұрын
You simply tune the guitar at 2 points. The open position & @ the 12th fret. You set the tuning at the 12th fret by the saddle screw for each string. Then decide your string height. I am no expert in that subject! I prefer a low string height without any fretting!!! That is what i do anyways...

Nice video sir!! I’m looking to learn slide guitar and am wondering if I should get the telecaster. I recently returned a used affinity squier telecaster because of sting misalignment. High action in my case would be a good problem to have. It’s amazing what can be had today vs what we grew up with, when it came to a 100$ guitar. Love the channel.
@BigHairyGuitars3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Hi Tomothy. YES! GOOD POINT! I think it'd probably be a good choice for that. I'd put on some heavier gauge strings, and maybe drop in a pickup of your choice, then you're off to the races!

Mike has great command of his instrument no matter what he plays - he needs to reach out 2 other guitar manufactures such a Knaggs, Veranda, Aristides, Maor, Electric Guitar company, Wide Sky Guitars, Sheldon Electrical Instruments, Wallace Detroit guitars...... ect It would make his channel so much more interesting. No one is going after that cool market to show the world what it is all about.

Maybe you could let your son film your episodes from now on. He seems to have a good sense of humor and is very inspiring with his excitement. You could retire! Serious note, like you say having it set up and replacing the pickup double the cost of the guitar at least, but if you also say that you don't get more than that from a $500 guitar, why invest in a new guitar as a beginner if you can make that one just as good with just a setup and pickups? It would be your next step towards better guitars without putting in $500 in one go. Maybe not the first day upgrade, but over a couple of years. And you could also learn to do the setup yourself with that cheap of a guitar, it's a good skill to know especially if you're short on money. And it allows you to get it just the way you like it. What I've heard is that the beginner/low cost guitars often have high action by default because the tolerances in the build are so big that it avoids dead strings and the small imperfections to compromise playing. So it might be that the nut needs filing and the frets need dressing to get it comfortably low. I found some aquarium foam on ebay that looked like the stuff people have behind the nut and in the spring cavity and it cost a couple of euros for a couple of slices. If you don't want to use sweaty socks. Now if you could only get it cheaper without the amp bundle and buy something like Blackstar Fly 3, you'd got a great amp tone as well. The best smaller speaker, actually the best speaker that's not some "real" speaker that a proper cab would use. And oh god my soul just cries when I see all the reddit posts that ask for a beginner guitar and the budget is always $50-150 max and they ask for "the best guitar". It's hard to not tell that nothing about that price range is "the best" and it's very likely gonna be sold for very little the moment the kid stops playing because it was so bad or that they can afford their next guitar which they want as soon as possible. I wouldn't go below like $250 and happened to be lucky with my first guitar and my parents, a $400 guitar was on sale for $250 and I still play it after 20 years. Thanks to China, the average quality of that sub $250 price range has gone up so much that it's not just objectively waste of time and money in firewood. But I'd still want to try them out before buying that cheap of a guitar. BUT I've heard some good words about Garry so hopefully that's the thing that provides a decent beginner starting point. I tried the 200€ JS series Dinky some years ago and that was very nice as well. Same thing, high action but actually felt like a real guitar and almost bought it for alteranate tunings and projects like pickups.

Amazing guitar for that price, in my opinion the height of the strings should not be a problem, I´ve seen flamenco guitar players with cheap guitars and man, flamenco music is really hard to play and the strings are waaaaay high than in an electric guitar. Paco de Lucía was the best of the best
