Excellent video! Thank you, this might be what Ive been waiting for in order to purchase CS2. But, this is Paradox mods? Is this part of the developer? Is it gonna be the same with these as with Steam workshop, that when a update came, most of it went broken and you have to wait for the mods to be fixed or risk crashing you city. Or is these safe and tested with new game updates? Because that was one of the reasons I stopped playing CS1, was because of all the broken mods, some of them took ages to fix. Again, great video! I am a subscriber of course. :)

There won't be a steam workshop for CS2. This is what there will be instead - a platform built in to the game itself. Other than that, mods will work very similarly to how they did in CS1 - when the game is updated, there is a chance it will break a mod. That said, most of the people who make the mods are now given access to updated versions of the game ahead of the public in order to give them time to make fixes for their mods.

Great video! Question: is there mods that can add unique buildings to your catalog? Example: I installed a mod where I can now put the Empire State Building into my city under the unique /specialized buildings tab in game

No, custom assets are not yet available. They will be in the future though.

I'm not sure what the issue is - are you using the steam version of the game so that it has the most recent updates?

Can you have more than one active playset? I.e. a 'core mods' playset you use all the time (e.g. MoveIt etc) then active a map-specific playset as well... or would I have to add e.g. MoveIt to each one? Or could just not add a sub'd mod to a playset, in which case its always active regardless of which playset you're using?

Right now you can only have one active playset at a time. So you would need to add everything to each playset in which you want it to be available. Keep in mind that as of now the system is still in beta so more features may be added in the future.

It sounds to me like you're running CS1 if you're getting 0/0 mods loaded. If that's the case, then you should restart the game.

stellaris from paradox use this sytem more then one year, with playset, but anno 1800 have its own mod server too. i think more and more games will do this. its a good system and more safe to play.

@@Czardus can confirm. I fixed everything and found the problem. Go to your user file on windows and delete colossal order folder (relocate if you want to save a map / savefile). then delete from steam and reinstall. then the mods worked.

After I enabled the mods, the game's tool bar were all gone until I disabled it. Anyone experienced the same thing?

It's likely a mod issue. Try disabling your mods one at a time to find which is causing you a problem, or use the mod Skyve: mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/75804/Windows

For me, when I load up the game, my active playset is always off. So naturally, I turn it on and then the game tells me to restart the game to enable mods. I restart the game and; the active playset is off and the cycle continues.

I do not know the answer to this question, but I would assume that it will be available for all versions of the game that are currently available (which does not include consoles).

I could be wrong but there are some limitations if your platform doesn't allow you to save locally which forces everything to be re-downloaded (mods/ assets) every time you start the game. I think this was a specific limitation for the Nvidia Geforce Now service or whatever it was called. Not sure how it will effect gamepass, if that is what you are referring to.

I don't know when or how you are using this Paradox shit platform flawlessly. Mine is filled with bugs, slow reloads its so so bad! I keep getting conflcit between cloud and local files "PDX Error"

@@Czardus What a crazy concept, they open their own proprietary mod shop after killing steam workshop and are surprised that people have logged on to use the service that they promised to replace something that was already there and functional as proven by the success of version 1 ? They had one job to do and apparently they have failed, again. This was their moment to shine and to prove that what they were saying for the past five months wasn't just hot air. I guess they learned their lesson though because the excuse this time is that mod support is still in beta which is what the base game should be labeled as.
