Those boots are vintage they were very popular in the late 70’s early 80’s they also came in an ivory color. John Travolta even wore a pair in the movie Urban Cowboy

I and my wife live at our ranch here at Lake Thunderbird in Norman Oklahoma, where we raise Horses and Cattle. I was the Sr. Board member of the "Norman Round Up Club". My Cowboy Boots are MANDATORY out here. We have Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes, Pygmy Rattlesnakes, Copperheads, Cottonmouths and other things that like to bite. A GOOD pair of Cowboy boots are a 100% requirement here!......( killed 3 Pygmy Rattlers just last year, killing one of them by stepping on it with my boots )...........My most comfortable and favorite boots are my Rattlesnake Boots. Extremely soft leather, but very durable and bite proof (so far LOL)

Rex Krueger said it best that the old school traditional ways usually work best for hand tool work. Craftsmen didn’t waste time, money, effort, or materials if they were any good. They found the best ways they could to produce the best work they could with tools, jigs, and processes that just worked over time. It looks like y’all blend quality, new materials (leather soles with small lugs for example) with traditional techniques. It’s mesmerizing to watch you both killing it at your craft. Thanks for the great content.

I love these highly- detailed resole jobs... Also, the shooting style of having you both working together is really great. In fact, I think that I've found a video to tie with my previous favourite, which was the Lobb repair... Again, the camera-work is excellent, but the real strength of the video lies in how Heath breaks down and explains the steps. Considering the attention to detail, meticulousness and care that you both put into your work, I find myself wondering what you could do if you were to take on a restoration of Trenton's Mustang?! (or was it a Camaro?) I bet that a whole lot of people would LOVE to see that! Thanks guys!

Thanks for this insight on Tony Lama boots! I would definitely use those lugged soles on mine. I bought my first pair of TLs (also my first pair of cowboy boots) in 1989 or so on the advice of a coworker who only ever wore boots, and said regardless of what I thought about cowboy boots, I should really try a pair of Lamas. I went down to the local western wear store (used to be a lot more of them around here), tried on a pair, and that was it! I've had two other pairs since then and love them. They're definitely made to a price point, and if I compare my newer pairs to the original (which my son now wears), I can tell they're not quite as well built. That said, they're really comfortable, the price is right, and they do seem to last. I had another coworker who would only wear Lucchese, but I could never bring myself to pay that kind of money!

Those definitely have pointed toes. Mine were like conventional rounded toes. I have high instep, boots are tough to find that fit well. Bought mine a million years ago at Cutter Bill's in Dallas. Crazy store that provided beer while you shopped. Guess that freed up the wallets.

I’ve got family from Ardmore Oaklahoma ….. well when I say “from” the are originally from here in the San Francisco Bay Gilroy, but moved there early. Both my aunts sadly passed away, but my 1st cousins are still alive and well and living in the same city. I love your videos! Keep up the great work! I’m considering getting into this line of work and any advice would be great

I have a pair of boots that doesn't have an "insert" insole. The insole is a thick piece of leather that's connected to the upper and welt with the "rib" style Goodyear stitch. How would these be resoled, since any nails or pegs would puncture the insole to the iron last? Would you just limit the penetration of the nails by using shorter-than-conventional ones?

Count me in for people interested in the lugged JR leather sole. Are they going to be an available option online?

I am not sure what algorithm sent me to this channel but it is GREAT and I am hooked. I would like to see a QnA session with you guys answering some of the million questions I am sure you get. If I were to add to the pile it would be: 1. Where did you learn to do this and how long did that take? 2.Where did you get all of the purpose built equipment that you have? WOW btw. 3. Would you ever consider doing an apprenticeship/mentorship for some interested artisan/craftsman that could use a break? P.S. Tell your father thanks for his service and when do we get to meet him? Keep doing what you are doing!!

I like the JR soles bc they look like they keep the comfort of leather, but add some water protection. I living in Florida it rains all the time and my leather boot soles get saturated all the time!

I find this very interesting… some of your tooling looks very vintage, I have a clothing line, only a couple of items , however, what you guys use is very cool . The sewing machine is one machine that has the Industrial Revolution look .

I wouldn't believe that I can enjoy two lookalikes of Clooney repair cowboy boots. The entertainment value is through the roof and I don't even like cowboy boots :-)

I love a good pair of boots. And it doens't matter how much you spend. I have a pair of Panhandle Slim, that are bull belly, and they have lasted me almost 30 years. I bought them in 1994 for &299, have put them through hell, and they've never let me down.

You guys should live stream a repair on a pair of shoes or boots. You'd probably get a TON of views. I'd watch it!
